I did just enough today to finish the fitting/installation of the gas tank assembly.....The last bolt hole to support the rear of the cage is drilled....(the shiny bolt head).............
All three uprights are now bolted to the rear crossmember and hold the tank in place...........
Tomorrow I "get" to lower the body back onto the frame......remove the tank assembly so I can drill and fit the tank for fuel lines/etc.
UPDATE:
Filler neck is ready to install in top of tank......
Neck goes through back wall of cargo area / access panel in floor of cargo area.......
Neck is accessible through tail light opening............
Non-vented cap to prevent fuel from spilling on accelleration.......
Tai light "snapped" back into opening.............

Practice/practice/practice..........it took only 5 minutes to drop the tank (add another 5 minutes once all the fuel lines are installed on the tank)........
Grinding dust on everything.......I'll drill/tap holes for the fuel fittings...then clean/repaint the tank.
But for now I need to go Christmas shopping for my human friends and relatives.

Yes, we must not forget our human friends and family members.
Do I need to update that shipping address for you?
Looking great. Impressive. Nicely done.

Thanks David! I used plenty of paint to prevent rust.....and to make the welds photogenic, as my daughter says
Today is a day off. 45*F outside which is 8*F for a Southern boy! And my mother-in-law's home only has a carport facing North (we are still taking care of her 24/7).

If the car's facing north,at least you're getting a little sun. DG you continue to be an inspiration to us all. Keep the faith and the good work.
Tell me about it......I've owned homes with garages for 40 years!

Thanks lowbuck...........but Agent Orange has affected my internal body thermostat....any temperature below 75*F gives me chills...........
"Garage" is measured in "square feet" By the looks of the clearing.... what you plan to build would be called a "barn"... or "warehouse"... typically measured in "acres"!

I have not read any other blog, but, 4 years ago I "went & got" a '68 convert. Yes, basket case. The ONLY good points were that the interior was there ( new ) and the drive-train was re-done to new ( orig. ). Finally, it is together with a show quality paint to top it off, in Int'l blue. As a disabled combat vet, I find that, I can't do too much on my own. Do bear in mind that I got the whole "mess" for $6K on a distress sale. Long story short ( as possible ) I will have a frame on restored car come spring. As Luke SkyWalker once said, "May the force be with you."
I had a '68 convert when I first got back "to the world." You know the rest of it . . . . . .

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
