That's 50% larger than our house! We wanted to build a garage that size but the zoning wouldn't allow us to build a garage bigger than our house.

The size of the garage was one of the main reasons that I bought the house that I currently own. I asked the realtor to show me the garage before viewing the rest of the house. She looked at me a little strangely, but when I told her about my hobby she understood immediately. It's 1250 sq. ft. and I wish sometimes that it was larger.

"Donuts" should not be a problem!

The concrete contractor started working on the form this afternoon....I drove there to get some pics.......and was side-tracked

Pics tomorrow.

I finally made it to the new house at dark. Thunderstorms were coming so I covered the form and a truckload of leveling dirt to keep the monsoon rain from soaking everything..........not much to see at 8 p.m..............

That`s 250 sq. ft. more than I have! It seems that no matter HOW much space you have, it`s never enough!

Annnnnnnd.....if you build an 800 sq.ft. one-car shop........

somehow it ends up with TWO CARS inside!

Along with other errands I went to the new house. The contractor leveled out the dirt inside the form and I installed the plumbing at the rear of the slab...the 220 V AC wiring will enter through the front right PVC pipe.....

They started pouring the concrete, but I had to leave early to avoid the usual 5-mile-long traffic jam across the Mississippi River Bridge

Do you plan on using any coating like paint or epoxy on the concrete?

I used epoxy on my last garage floor. I know there is a curing time before epoxy can be applied to new concrete.

My wonderful Mother-in-law (my "second-mother") passed away this morning....she never recovered from her husband passing away 10 months ago.

We have been staying at their home for the last year taking car of them, so it is rough not seeing them.

I still remember all the advice/thoughts/prayers you Members have given to me the last couple years.....it helps very much........

The loss of your father-in-law was more than she could overcome. Having been together for so many years, the one was no longer whole or complete without the other. The two became one, and death indeed did part them and now reunites them. I know this has been a very hard year, with much emotional pain and other changes. You remain in my prayers. I am thankful you do have a new place, and are already focused on something new to go back to after the funeral. Stay in touch Tony
