As long as the Gremlins stay away from the Vette!
Now that the stores have electricity I need to get a trans cooler...so fluid wont soak the shop walls. I need to connect the radiator-burp system/
install trans cooler/
set timing/
shift TH400 thru gears/
etc.
C'mon 7:30 a.m.- parts stores open
A little more work on the coolant hoses...(Don't tell anyone about my top secret cold air system)
Oversize aluminum radiator....
Pusher/Puller fans flow good after installing the puller fan with a 10 second ON-Delay relay to keep both fans from overloading the alternator (per member DBL TRBL )
No cranking again today...
I needed to rewire/wrap the DIY electric fans harness,
While I was at it I removed all the un-needed wiring.
I also used "Yall's" advice and DIY'd a 1" thick circular spacer, then upgraded the cabin blower motor.
I couldn't force foam into the gaps between the radiator and the support,,,so I HVAC taped the gaps...
Time to call it a day..."It's a Day".
Where's the Tylenol...I have one of those wiring headaches
I don't know WHAT I'm going to do......................with ME?
The object of the game WAS to get the engine running and alt. charging...not so, ADHD/PTSD took control.
I separated the tie-wrapped wires at the alternator and the horn relay all the way to the firewall plug in order to wrap them with correctly with non-adhesive harness tape...didn't happen.....
The ADHD said "Hey...rewrap that light harness first"...so I did....I replaced damage wires from a spare harness I had-then I used the harness wrap to make it like new again....That's a lonnng harness.....
2020 Corvette of the Year Finalist (performance mods)
2019 C3 of Year Winner (performance mods)
2016 C3 of Year Finalist
I modified an older version to lift and have the crank cable. It didn't go high enough for a motor either...I took it out of the truck last year when I thought I had to junk it...but It passed safety so I fixed the other issues. Now I gotta hope it passes next week
I got the H.F. 12V hoist and boom on sale. At its highest point it clears the bed by 53 inches, The electric hoist will allow me to pick a transmission off the ground and lift it 2" above the bed...an engine would probably clear the bed by a foot.
I need a pulley to mount on the end of the boom to feed the hoist cable through...and 15' of 12 ga. wire to run to the starter + connection.
I just joined in, starting last night, reading your thread here. Great job getting everything to this point. Looks like you are super close. I’m sure the excitement is building, knowing it will be on the street soon!

litevette....Thanks! I should have completed it 12 years ago,,,,but Life!
I owe the Forum members 100% of everything I have done correctly (I screwed up enough on my own).
By the way...I blame the PTSD on the fact that I have done the restomod/restoration BACKWARDS.
That's certainly one heckuva lift - hope it can do all you hope it does. Hang in there and keep up the good work. The finish line is out there somewhere even though I find that it keeps moving...

I get ya! Life & doing things that set us back. I’ve certainly been there. Despite that though, you have persevered. I let too many go in the past due to either life, lack of funds, lack of knowledge or losing that luvin feelin. Sure wish I could have some of them back.
