I returned the A Z points/condenser combo and bought separate point and a condenser from NAPA.
The engine fired up and ran about 15 seconds until it used the gas in the carb.
(The engine normally runs on a 5 psi electric pump at the tank).
I tried to upload the video to YOUTUBE but it wouldn;t accept it.
Anyhow...now that I'm sure the engine is debugged I can hook my new hoist to it and install the TH400 trans...
Then back in the engine bay it goes to be connected to the electric pump and fuel return line and set the timing
Brain damage...it took only two days to get the engine running
Years ago, I was in Corvette Cleveland Corvette Club. A woman's car stopped on a busy street in front of a member's house that I knew. He happened to be an engineer at our local NASA.
He raced a C-2 at Nelson's Ledges road course. He checked it out and I think that she had just had a tune-up very recently. It was a bad new condenser and he put a used one on and she drove away. Lou.
Forget the driver side rewiring today I found a couple more holes in the tunnel while I was scraping the grime off the fiberglass/patched the same.
I put a coat of rattlecan Gloss Black on the tunnel-it's ugly but it resists oil and grime/easier to clean...but UGLY.
Now for the dust on everything. I got tired of dusting all the new paint off so I bought some Dollar Store clear shower curtains to cover stuff.....
Well...I scraped all the grease and grime off from the lower firewall and frame to the crossmember at the kickups...wiped it all down with acetone and applied 3 rattlecans of Gloss Black Enamel to the frame/tunnel/underside of the floorboard.
NO pics...the Gloss Black looks to ugly to be photo'd.
I am going to the garage with my new-to-me engine hoist and bolt the TH400 to the engine for installation into its happy place.
SAMPLE PIC......
I'm back...ran out of matching nuts bolts washers but install it anyway.
It was 3/8" too low at the tailshaft/installed a spacer and snugged everything up.
PAY NO ATTENTION to the ugly Gloss Black......OR the nasty garage floor......

There is nothing wrong with gloss black. My TR4 has a gloss doghouse, did semi-gloss on the C3, flat on the F250 and I am now using low gloss on a Mustang. I think now my favorite is the low gloss, but the gloss sure cleans up nice.
OOOOOPS......One of my installation pics didn't load onto my thread......
The gloss black just shows every pitted area but the upside is it's so easy to clean.
It took an hour to smooth out the engine crossmember and paint it....then I spilled a little acetone on it and the paint on the right side wrinkled.
Ohh well...practice practice ............
No pics today. I spent 5 hours cleaning out a month's worth of trash, sand, dirty paper towels that accumulated while giving the engine, trans., engine bay, tunnel and crossmembers a good cleaning and painting.
Later this afternoon I'll replace the worn nuts/bolts that hold the trans in place at the crossmember, the shifter cable, kickdown wiring, etc while the car is still on jack stands.

Today was a slow day....chasing xmsn filters, ordering new u-joint straps-----
I bagged and tagged the original ones for sandblasting---and then LOST the bag.
Anyhow I installed the new trans filter....the 10 year old shifter cable....the speedometer cable and touched up the pan just enough for the paint to try to wrinkle in spots
*I can never get away with using to different brands of rattlecan paint
IF I would have TRIED for wrinkles it wouldn't happen!
Today was a Bad day. My wife's puppy of 14 years died of heart failure this at 6 am morning while I was bathing her. My wife is out of town for 2 days. It was very sad/she was a small dog and very affectionate.
See you in Heaven Lexi
