Hello again RVZIO,
I would really like to make the Zip show this year but time may run out on me. Still have a ton of work to handle with several nagging issues to figure out. Like you, I hit it every day for eight to twelve hours and still feel guilty at quitting time. We shall see.
Thanks again,
Norm

Default Interior very near completion

Waiting on seat restraints before bolting down the seats but for the most part, interior is very near completion. Door panels will go on last due to problems finding 68 door buttons. I think a forum member has found a good pair so waiting to hear from him. Couple more pics.
Thanks,
Norm

Completed install on both seats along with all the restraint systems. Hard part for interior is done for now. Time to get back on body work.

Default Hood

Am I the only one who thinks he could leave the hood off and just paint the body and it will look good? With all the trouble its been giving you, just leave it off!! That front on shot looks nice.

Hi VSTOL,
For this build, I used part number WIL-261-13269 from Summit Racing. This is a manual brake set-up for this car. I really like being able to adjust the bias with a simple turn of the ****. So far in drive way tests and burn outs, it has worked very well.

For my friend and local CA, Mr. Care, I wish we could run without a hood. It would certainly simplify my work. Rainy days may be a problem

Great project!!!
I see you are running a rack´n pinion system. But I´m wondering which steering shaft you have. It doesn´t look like stock. What kind of steering shaft is it (I mean the part between firewall and u-joint).

Hi Gunther,
The shaft and joints are part of the Steeroids rack and pinion kit that came from Zip Products. I had to make some minor modifications in order for everything to clear but for now, appear to be working as advertised.
CORRECTION: After giving the photos a second take, Gunther may be looking at the lower portion of the steering column. If that is the case, steering column came from IDIDIT.
Thanks for the question, hope this helps.
Norm

Sweet! Norman, can you give us details about those rims and tires? Rim brand, model name, sizes, backspaces? Tire brand, sizes? Cheers.

Wow...that is just wicked! Nice work and glad this one got saved. What an amazing transformation from a frame and shell to what you have now.

Impressed,

Rims are Billet Street Lites in Black. Size for front is 17 X 9.5 with 4.5 backspace. Tires are Kumho Ecsta SPT 285/40ZR-17. Rear rims are 17 X 12 with 5.5 backspace. Tires are Toyo Proxes TQ LL P315/35R-17 . No spacers front or rear and everything clears with room to spare. Next set of drag radials will be one size larger based on what I see now. Need all the rubber I can get with this many ponies. Hope this will answer most of the questions. I fashioned my own tool for taking measurements and it appears to have worked !!
