Not a whole lot going on, just small little odds and ends, ran trans cooler lines and installed new rear bumpers. Fighting with belt length up front. Right now my bracket set up and current belt rubs against the thermostat housing (using a straighr housing). Smaller belt will cure the issue by moving the laternator inward... got aggressive in lentgh on got ine too small..third time is the charm they say... in the mean time, butt shot!

IT's ALIVE!!!!!

After priming the fuel system, checking for leaks and filling up the cooling system, it fired up at the first hit of the key. I'm talking maybe 2 full rotation and it was live!!!

It is very quiet, very stealthy and even the cam is pretty soft.

Unfortunatly it sprung a leak at the block/water pump where the water spacers are for my belt drive...one side only so I get to pull that and see what's going there...and I forgot to tight up my tans line so I ended up with a couple drips there...otherwise, all seems to work. Started it a bunch of time but didn't really play around with the programming. I just wanted to fire it up and hear it -Mission accomplished-

After having a bunch of fun showing off how easy that thing cranks up to a few friends, I noticed I was pissing coolant (well water really, I always do the initial firing with straight water for this exact reason)...at the block and water pump connection...after checking the obvious, had to drain and remove the pump and I found this:

these are the water pump spacers. As you can sea, one cracked at the lip but you can also see a hairline crack bellow it. Interestingly ICT billet (from which I bought the whole bracket kit sometime back in 2016 ish) is now making the spacers without o-rings and just use plain old school gasket. Clearly it was a mnfg defect, probably on oddity but, concidering my last two weeks of "**** parts" this made me walk away from the project....I was a little testy I won't lie...but focusing on the small victory that the motor fired right up, a bunch of time, AND got great help from Austin on the fitech forum who got me the latest updated boost tune for my system. I went and focused on updating it and going into the procal software to get me familiar with it.
New spacers ordered, until then, we'll focus on something else for now

I would call this a big win and be happy the only thing that went wrong was this adapter.
The fact they changed their design says a bunch.
The piece probably had a hairline crack before you installed it and torquing it caused the fracture.
Be thankfull it happened now and not on the road in six months.
Congrats on your successful first start up.
The exhaust tone has a nice rumble and should fool a lot of people of what hides under the hood.
Nice and quiet for those nice days with the top down.
Nice build.
Have a sip of champagne.

Thanks guys! I agree completely, had that exact discussion with a friend that was there helping.
i’m sure it’ll get a little louder over time (most of the straight through mufflers usually do that)

It’s made by Pypes, straight through design. Car is 100% street.

Thanks for the reply. How does a car with the rear tire so large handle on the street ? Crazy mod you have going on, very impressive.

I have no idea, it's not ready to be driven just yet...have a few things to do like shifter install, alignment etc...it should "handle" just like any other pro-street and since I don't have pizza cutters up front, should be fine there too.

Got my front bumper on today. Got it to fit perfectly after a little bit of messing with it (mostly loosening the frame horns and brackets to allow for some finite adjustments)

Time for an update...
I've done some stuff on the car, but nothing that "cool" as I'm just going through the motions of tightening things up.
Dash is back in the car for good, steering colum with steering wheel now on. Carpet is in and kick panels to match have been modified to accept 5.25" speakers (and installed). Still working on the console to get it to fit right, I've picked up a pioneer AVH-210EX double din for the car and I also have the rear speakers in hand...needed to have that to consolidate my game plan for the rear interior panels.

The car actually moved under it's own power...all 6" forward and back on the lift lol. Brakes are descent, they can hold the car at idle so that's a win (probably needs more bleeding).
Been messing around with the Fitech and learning as I go.
Really coming down to the wire, last of the biggest items are the seats...figuring out what I want there, ordering vinyl/leather swash for the interior...if it wasn't for the stupid gas pedal cable coming off (the stupid nylon retainer keeps popping out) I could have gone around the block...errrr well up down the driveway, how about that lol.

Shifter installed and adjusted

Working on the gaps between the lower dash and center console

It's quiet, I think our 04 silverado with dynomax cat back is louder. I expect the muffler to become a little louder over time as most straight thru designs tend to.

Time for a quick update:

new custom TMI seats came in and I painted the bumper guards/grill surround body color to see how I like that scheme. Also painted the console to see how it all will work with the rest of the interior.
I've also ordered a windshield locally, was supposed to be here this week but with Dorian, that won't happen.

Not an exact match but I do like the contrast, this is what I was going for

Installed driver side. Had to make some brackets and frame for it to get it to sit as low as possible

WOW that looks great!!!

OK..OK -you have found my seats-

That's what I have been looking for and didn't know TMI did anything to fit a Vette. Was looking at some Porsche seat by Classic Car Seats- but the prices would take you breath away!

I'll shoot you a PM for info-

What I was looking at-

That’s just it they dont make anything for vette, i searched what they had and liked those, dimensionally they are about the same width as the stock vette.... after that you have to custom fab all the mounts... as i stated in my pm, i ended up not using the liders as the seats were to high. They are not adjustable, solid mounted a la race car style... i’m 5.11 and i fit pretty good, my 6.2 budy tried it and he was fine too but i would say that’s the height limit, i think is head is right at the windshield height.
