update:
Took the car around the block for the first time, was uneventful (always like it that way lol), ride is pretty smooth (went all school, no seats, sat on the floor lol)...forgot I had no front sway bars either, installed that afterwards
I decided to add an anti roll bar to the 4 link, got the Jegs kit, worked out really nice and easy to add. Couple custom brackets later, I made it a bolt on set up.
For the bracket I used a piece of square tubing, used a hole saw to drill its center, then plasma cut it in half and the end angles.
Slow progress but interior is coming together, almost done, door panels are on for good and have all the details. Finished wrapping the bars too.
i also started on the wife’s 69 camaro, hence why i havent spent much time on the 68 as of late.
the center console in my car may be borked, so this is looking more appealing.
as you're doing all these fitment adjustments, is that info going back to modern classics? are they updating their mold to fit better? I'd like to use this but minimize additional fabrication effort which isn't necessary
also did you get your custom? on their website they don't seem to sell one with that rear storage compartment
They don't show the rear storage compartment, it was a surprise when it arrived as they didn't say it would have it.
No I have not reported back to modern classic because it would be impossible for them to make corrections unless they had mine in hand. I also believe they are trying to have one console fit all C3... I have hours into this and unless you are comfortable working with fiberglass and fabricating, I wouldn't recommend it...now if you want to save some massive amount of time from making one from scratch then yes, this works well, 75% of it done, the 25% is simply fitting it to your car.
The car looks stunning! I guess I missed something in the build.....the "handle" in the console, is that an emergency brake handle or a shifter? If it's one....where is the other????

Thank you!
B&M magnum grip shifter. No parking brake.
I thought I was pretty much done with this project and then the trans decided it wasn't gonna play nice and not want to engage reverse when hot (had to rev it up a bit for it go in)...couple phone calls with the builder and they told me to take it off the car and ship it to them (their cost)... I managed to take a few pictures as I was moving things around the garage to get it on the lift as I'm sure she's gonna sit there for a bit....Still need to paint that one grill surround body color but got the grill in and the side rock guards...oh took it around the block a few more time (as part of the transmission test)...got into boost a little...she barked the tires on the 1-2 shift at half throttle and low low boost (think it was around 3-4 lb)... sounds promissing, was looking forward to tune it next week...but c'est la vie they say...yah!
Thanks Richard!
in the mean time I'll focus on my wife's 69 camaro...it's getting warm enough to paint...and I just finished the custom triangulated 4 link set up on hers...
After almost 4 weeks (including shipping time) got the trans back.... since it was out, time to upgrade the converter... went from 2500 to 32-3400 to help spool that turbo quicker. Had FTI build me one of their SR series. Nice looking unit.
