Default Name This Part

Here's one everyone likes... name that unknown part! This is from a 72 Auto with P/S. I think it's from the area of the driver's side firewall, perhaps the brakes or accelerator. Searches for 'bumper' or 'cushion' in the AIM didn't return a hit. Yet another case of not bagging things up as well as I should have. Have fun.

I have no absolute answer but if you look at the center hole it seems that a cable is running through the center from top to bottom and something is intersecting so this bushing will not allow the two to rub together

Hi,
It's one of the rubber feet from an Eckoware model 972 electric frypan.
Don't know how it ended up in your car.
It may have some value to a collector of old kitchen small appliances since they were often lost while the frypan was being transported in 1972 Corvettes.
Regards,
Alan

I've got a model 969 frying pan that's missing one of its feet. Would this be interchangeable?

Why am I thinking this is part of my Turbo Encabulator? Perhaps the differential girdle spring bumper?

A good sense of humor comes in handy in this forum. Glad that you have one.

I don't recognize that part at all and I've had everything from the firewall forward off. I haven't ventured under the dash too far (yet) but from what I recall it doesn't look familiar in there either.

My encabulator is in the back shop so I can't get there to check until the snow melts

Yes for early pans; no for the later models. Keep in mind the coupe pans did not use the feet. Convertibles only.

I got up this morning and checked the forum. On this thread I hit view last unread post. It went to the very last post and skipped over the last 5 or 6 posts. I think I hurt my brain trying to figure it all out. It didn't get much better as I scrolled up one by one and tried to figure out what was going on. Really funny ...... I think.

Well, you didn't install that part into your car...

So, where did you install the other pieces of that frying pan???

Actually, it looks like a rubber piece that separates two pieces of tubing from each other. (fits between the two cooling lines from the auto tranny???)

No, it's far too small for that. Most camel toes are much larger.
