Default telescopic lock screws

does anyone know what size the screws that lock the locking ring to the star screw are?

i was putting a grant steering wheel on my 74 and didnt know i had telescopic because turning the locking ring didnt do anything. during disassembly i saw the two screws that screw into the locking ring were missing. Glad i have telescoping, but now i have to return my grant wheel since it wont work with the T/T column

Memory serves me correctly...they are 10-32...and they are VERY SHORT...with a Phillips taper head.

I just saw where they are being sold some where the other day ...but I can not remember.

Ecklers sells them I believe but I'd like to see if I can get them locally since it's only 2 screws. If not then I'll order the pair

The shortest thing I see from McMaster is 10-32 x 1/4". You can probably get something at home depot and cut it down with a cut-off whel.

They will probably charge you 20 cents each for the screws and put them in a large box along with catalogs and sales papers and charge you $10.00 for shipping for a total of $10.40 .

I can't remember if they are 10-32's or 10-24's. But they are flat-head, tapered-head (45 degree) screws, 1/4" long, with Philips drive slots. If you have one of the original screws, take it with you to the hardware store. I doubt that you can find any in 1/4" length; you may have to cut longer screws to the correct length. If you do that, put a nut on the screw BEFORE you cut it. Then, when you remove the nut, it will clean-up the damaged threads.
