Not getting in the middle,
But I have an original 68 327-300hp that I run 93 octane and at every fill add a bottle of lead substitute. It is around 4-5 dollars a bottle and you can find it at nearly all the parts stores by the chemical sections- brake fluid, oil additives, etc.

And that would be the correct answer for an early C3 original engine without hardened valve seats to prevent seat depression ..

Troll's get what they ask for! And if he thinks he getting anyone upset, far from it! It's quite entertaining! But if you want to challenge someone about behavior's on the forum, why not ask the troll why he has to be a troll?

Oh brother! Well Thank you for your well thought out opinion. I don't necessarily disagree with you. However it is pretty common knowledge that if you ask a broad brushed question, and then act like an azz when folks try to get you to narrow it down, you should expect to get flamed. It's the way it works. So excuse me when I follow such a thread and get a chuckle.

I disagree. Your question was answered...several times....with the information you provided.

In case you are not aware of it. It was not until your post #7 that you specifically mentioned the year of the car you were asking about. So your question was open ended and there was really no clear precise answer even though people did reply.

And just so you know... Which it is always wise to mention they year model in the first post. Because.....from 1968 high compression big blocks to the 1982 Cross-Fire fuel injected engines are light years apart.

Yes they can. The thing you need to avoid, if possible in your area, is ethanol. I run 93 octane non-ethanol gasoline.

There is a web site and app to find gas stations with non-ethanol.
