68 in a 55 blue light special. Trooper asked "You know why I stopped you?" I replied "68". He said "Yup 68. Tell me about your car. I have a 2016 myself". So after talking car shows (I was on my way to one) and checking out picts of his black 2016 I was on my way sans ticket. Gotta love corvette guys!

I used to stop them just to look at them and talk with the owners. Can't say as I ever wrote a Corvette for anything. Lots of guys on the job love Vettes and fast cars in general
It happen to me I was out with my son got pulled over. The cop walked around my car looked it over. came to the window said what year is it we talked he looked under the hood. I was on my way great guy pulled me over just to look at the car.
I had a patrol car pull up next to me and the officer asked me if I wanted to trade cars.I also got caught by radar and had to listen to him tell me about his Trans Am,on and on and on but I had to be nice because he was writing me up under the actual speed I was going.
Back in 77 when we made our cross-country trip, we were cruising along thru Kansas, travelling more or less with traffic, and this SOB statie pulled me over and wrote me up. Cost me $50 cash... The Colorado border looked real nice, after spending an unplanned night in Kansas.
There's another, much better, story involving a Mass Trooper, but it's to long an involved for the moment.

Not true in all cases. I was a police officer for 25 years and wrote a lot of tickets, but never to a Corvette owner. Never was jealous of Corvettes, I owned eight of them over the years and presently have a 1978 Indy Pace Car with a modified engine.
I got pulled over in Ohio by a state trooper for doing 56 in a 55. Most cops are great guys - some are just asshats!
Ohio cops are a bunch of Gomer's . Don't even go there if you can avoid it . If you are from out of state , they won't even let you leave until you pay the ticket on the spot.

There are *******s in every crowd., but most are great guys. . Wrote a lot of tickets over the years but never to a vette owner, that I can recall. Wait I do remember one in about 1969, chased a 65 Vette in a pursuit until it blew up. Son of a Judge so nothing happened anyway.!
Got pulled over in 1966..........
Officer: "You know why I stopped you?"
Me (dummy): Loud exhaust.
Me (...."......): Speeding.
Me (...."......): No mirrors.
Me (...."......): No turn signals.
Officer: "All good answers.....but I'm going with improper lane change"
Cop was chasing this old guy in a Corvette down the highway, took 10 miles before he finally pulled him over. Cop said "why didn't you pull over right away?" The old guy said, " Twenty years ago, my wife ran away with a highway patrolman, I thought you were bringing her back".
I would pull over the driver, chew out and warn him but I never wrote a Vette driver or a muscle car if I knew the guy knew how to drive it correctly. The Hot rodders that were drinking got a full arrest. I was a car guy because my dad was one......
My experience with being pulled over has been mostly very good. Last time a cop pulled me over having followed me in an unmarked SHO for 2-3 miles. I was clearly driving too fast. He saw my scrubs and asked if I was going to a medical emergency. When I told him I was speeding home because my dog had run away after landscapers left our gate open he just said 'go find her man'. No ticket.

If a cop pulls you over just to look at your car, that is harassment, plain and simple. The cop should lose his job, or learn what his job actually is. To protect and serve and pull over people with cool cars and bother them.
