Yep, (edit) nailed it, a bolt on answer to a mod people have wanted since 1974,

I have a set of (his) fiberglass bumpers waiting for me,

I want to play with some of the new paints out there, i dont want new looking chrome, i want a survivor, driver type look, going as far as i might play with air brushing some rust spots

Very nice! Your conversion gives the '74 and later cars a real nice option for the "look" without all the hassle of grafting another rear clip to your car. Show us more photos when you're done. I also love the wheels.

Hi, Bats. This forum is a funny thing. So many different points of view. Some you agree with and some not so much but you can be sure that you'll get honest opinions and well-meaning advice.
With that, your vote of confidence on his product in other threads related to this topic really drove me to purchase this product. Thanks.
As for patina... I fully embrace it. Worn in, not necessarily worn out and my Vette will wear it proudly (or not so proudly, but necessarily), while I concentrate on drivetrain and suspension for the duration.
I,ve attached a couple of pics of my other patina rides. As for the van, my wife thought I was crazy for hitting it with a scotchbrite pad right after I painted it. And while my truck has mostly original paint I added the lettering and weathered it as well. It keeps people guessing and I never see a new scratch!

Very cool. I love the subtle flares on your truck, how did you do those?

The body on the Dodge is stock as a rock. What's cool about this body style is that it is very similar to the 67-72 GM trucks but with the muscular bulges of the 71-72 Roadrunners.
It'll be tough to pry the truck and the Vette out of my hands. They both started as neglected vehicles with serious help required but both are keepers for me. Kind of like stray dogs.

Wow, that is cool! Needless to say, there's not many '70s Dodge trucks here in Aus. I like your van and Vette a lot too.

Looks nice.....I didn't notice the bumper location until someone pointed it out. Probably would've with a full side shot. Like you said thouvb, it's a toss up unless you want to get into relocating rear side marker a little lower.

BTW, love stance of your c3. What are you lowered with?

Oh hey, thanks 60 SHARK. Was wondering who would pick up on the plate. Gotta have fun. It was an old novelty plate I had made up. Might be tough for it to fly now, though.

Thanks, Metalhead. Just curious, do you have to do the right-hand conversion to legally drive your Vette or do they make exceptions?

I'm leaving the marker lights as they are. No fiberglass surgery is good surgery for this guy. The car is lowered with 10" bolts in the rear and 1 1/2 coils in the front. I'm at my limit but my camber is still good. I am going to use offset control arm shafts to eke out a little more adjustability. As well, the stance and look of your Vette is downright nasty.

Don't have to convert cars that are 30 years old or more - mine is LHD as it should be.

You obviously have a great eye. Love your van and pickup! I'm going to look at those pics of your '75 again. I think the fact those glass bumpers are lower than the side body line initially put me off, but I'm gonna look again...

MK,
That is one fine convert you have! The stance is nice, the wheels look great. Get some satin blue paint on that tail and post a photo. Yummy!!!

With the rising prices of chrome bumpered vettes. This is a great way to go with a bargain priced '74-77.

Thanks for the kind words,
You knew i would love that van,
My wife tina just the other day said the paint was ratty on the xterra, its black, then she said, i dont want it painted but can you make it a dull sheen?
Lol, Scotch bright here we come..

With my 69 i didnt want a show queen that i worry a pidgion will fart on,
i want cats who see it driving along or at a cruise to think i got a survivor running and drove it in, my 66 was something like that,

The conversion, There hasnt been any bolt on like this it fills a notch, some people just cant take on the time, work and money of a clip swap or major body work, involved in other ways to get this same look,

Its a simple modification to give the later cars the early look, i have a 69 but i dont place any year above another so why shouldnt the later year owners get the look they want with the car they own,
nope, purists might not like it, but for people who want this look its a fast, easy, inexpensive way to get it

I was lucky, don shared with me the early stages, i needed something to get jazzed up excited about, mike had just did all his fiberglass hose job to me,
And believe you me, this conversion was a shot in the arm for me, so yeah, i guess i do spew about it a lot.

I look forward to playing with the glass bumpers just to see what i can pull off,

Bumpers/no bumpers/chrome bumpers/fiberglass bumpers/low bumpers/......

I like the style/design of the 68-73 tail light panel/lower valence!

Thanks, Bally. The bumpers are a touch lower but that is a small design compensation that I believe (he)had to allow for to keep more of the original design elements of the tail panel and follow the natural sweep of the rear fenders and still be completely bolt on. I have seen other bolt on conversions, but for me, this one is the most successful in a sense of staying true to the rear panel design elements.
