Thats a great looking car. At least my bumper was easy to remove!
I find it absolutely amazing how brittle and fragile these bumpers get. I don't recall Camaro or Firebird urethane pieces of the same era completely giving up the ghost like the Corvette factory pieces do.
Sometimes when I look at these bolt on bumper conversions I feel a little stupid for having chosen to do the conversion the hard way.
I don't think this conversion was available when you started, was it? Timing is everything sometimes, and not much you could do about starting a project like you did when you didn't know about the other option not yet in existence.

I wasn't aware of this conversion at the time I started my project but it wasn't too long into it when the guy making it posted about it on my project thread.
Hang in there Priya. I've been following along with your project and you are making great progress and spring is just around the corner. And many of us really appreciate the knowledge as well as learning from your experience with your difficult conversion process. Don't look back. Your finished project will look great and sure to provide you with the satisfaction of doing it on your own.

I really am laughing out loud at these pics,, when I picked up my 75 roadster, it had most of the rear bumper,, then by the time I trailered it 400mi, 85% of it was gone, lol, I'm hopeing some of it will take root and produce good vibes to some one to take on a fun project as we all have with our C3s, , , , and I also wish I had known of these conversions before I comitted to mine, I did even change my plan once already, , their for, I do have a new in box 1975 rear bumper cover for sale if anyone is intrested ( solid fiberglass, ACI brand ),,,,teddy

here is a side shot and it does not look too bad with the rear molded in and some of the body lines corrected to my taste. Attachment 48253057
We reshaped all the body lines and made all the lines sharper. The car had previous body work so some of the lines had been lost from over sanding.
The paint isn't done yet its going to have some more work done yet.Its liking getting tattoos,. it needs more art.
Your car looks great! I really like your rims....would you respond with the specs. on your rims like mfg., size ft/rr, back spacing. Thanks!

Priya - when you are done I think your conversion will be better and closer to stock. Plus you can say I built mine... to me that means a lot.
This conversion here looks ok, but as a (long time) Chrome bumper owner it looks off to me as do the larger wheels on some of the other cars. (> 17")
Too bad they did not relocate the bumpers on the kit here.
But that is just my personal preference's...

I also installed one of the Glassworks rear bumpers on my '75. Not at all
hard to do and I think it gives the car a much sportier look. dscn0706_81c45e408f5fc6187e50a6f12c83b53 d81458523.jpg
Wow, now that I can see the tail on a real car it looks a lot better than I expected. I've been going back and forth on this idea vs the '82 bumper for quite a while. Where did you get that chrome piece in the license plate well?

Reason: NSV
I bought it off Ebay from the crazypartsguys. They list it as a driver quality part, but it is much better than that. $68.00 to my door. Most of the major venders were out of stock on the NOS or GM approved ones, and they were more money https://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-1973-C...y/121940510523

Hello Sir
I am on the hunt for wheels for my 82 .
as I look at the wheels on your Vette that is very close to
what I want on mine .
I would love to have a set that look like 63 with the knock off
but that is not large enough . I don’t want 30 inch wheels for sure ! 17 front 18 rear
not harm meant to some that may but for me I want it to be a little lower but taller wheel
but I want to make sure it is not a extreme anyways thank you for your time !
Also thank you all for this forum to get help from the family !
Thanks for the kind comments. This kit was from a non supporting vendor so per forum rules I cannot say whom it came from...….
The Taillights on this car are not 75 units but are 68-69 LED units that are directly mounted so no cups needed to be used.
Here is another recent view.
so what was your trick for splitting the rear '75 tail lights with out cracking them?
I bought new rear lights for my 75 and very carefully sliced them in 1/2 on my father’s bandsaw. Place them in the openings of the new bumper piece and drill your holes. I used a little 3M “dum-dum” on each 1/2 of the lights and installed them with custom hardware. It’s really not very difficult and looks great to my eye.

thanks, I kinda thought I'd have to use some sort of saw to open them up but I just wanted to verify that with someone that did it..
