everybody has their own vision which makes this hobby fun.
here is a side shot and it does not look too bad with the rear molded in and some of the body lines corrected to my taste.

We reshaped all the body lines and made all the lines sharper. The car had previous body work so some of the lines had been lost from over sanding.
The paint isn't done yet its going to have some more work done yet.Its liking getting tattoos,. it needs more art.

I think it is important to correct the body lines like you have, and molding it in virtually makes it unrecognizable as a converted rear end versus 73 and earlier. Body lines are very important to me, and am amazed at the tolerance for poor body lines. I have come to realize some people just don't "see" it.

that is what makes the car for me. Every line from the top down was redone.

actually Bats I do have the chrome letters for the rear not sure if I will use those or go with silver leaf lettering and burnished for a different look. Going for a true 70s look. I just picked up a sweet set of moon roofs to help complete the look im after.

Jeff,
You are not subtle,
I get it you dont like this conversion, its cool,

Just like Some people dont like manual steering, no wipers, no heat, no ac and headlights you have to get out and open by hand etc,

But i dont harp on those things when i mention your car i talk about how nice it looks...

Did i make a point at all

Actually I do like this conversion, not sure why you think I don't.

I simply stated, as I have before, that the side fender body lines are not something I could live with, and would be something I would modify if I were to install this conversion. Why does it have to be all or nothing? MK Design and I have already had this conversation on a previous thread, and I don't think he takes insult to it. He expressed his acknowledgement of it, and how he considered it, and why he did not change it on his car.

I really do like the conversion and if I was in the build stage on my car, it would be a consideration. I would make that side body line the way I want it, i.e. continue the existing fender body line aft as it is on chrome bumper cars. Other than that I would be always worried about giving up the better rear crash protection that has to be deleted with this conversion.....but I would probably get over it! Lastly, now that I have seen the conversion molded in on JKIPPIN car above, and how he straightened the body line, it is essentially a way to turn a 77 into a 73, bodywise. That is how I would do it.

Bats, if your point is that the only comments that should ever be made are positive "nice" things, I guess I don't understand. Normally grown adult men and women can have a conversation that can include differences in opinion and concerns. Obviously being rude is not necessary, but I don't think I was rude. Part of the value of this forum to me is to read different points and ideas.

I completely get where you are coming from about matching bodylines! Jkippins conversion shows how this tail looks completely seamless when you make it... you know... seamless. I have never really considered molding the tail though, because of the relative rarity of '74/75 roadsters in Canada. That said, I will body work the tail to continue and terminate the fender peak and bumperette bodyline... if I ever get around to painting this thing. But for now, it is a straight bolt-on. And trust me, finessing these areas, which, to the casual observer are imperceptible, will be a whole lot easier to make perfect than trying to make the junk Truform bumper I originally purchased (that is now hanging on my wall) even close to acceptable. I will continue to completely endorse this tail whole-heartedly as an option if you desire to change up the look of your car from the rear.

To add, I do not believe that Iwas comments were out of line or without merit. As he said, we have agreed on this before. It was a comment made to make a good product even better with some messaging. Judging by the fit and finish of his beautiful Vette he knows a thing or two in this area!

Just too clarify the from and rear are bolt on and look awesome. No additional work was required a true bolt on. My car had previous body work and all the lines messed with. We reshaped the belt line, wheel wells fender peaks and just made things through out the whole body crisper.

I agree completely with you. I am more than happy with mine as is...a TRUE bolt-on. You have taken your Vette, with wicked cool modifications as well as the bumper conversion AND with the bodywork and stunning paint have put your car on another level! Just gorgeous.
Again, this conversion shows how versatile these pieces are. From mild to wild, your choice.

Sometimes when I look at these bolt on bumper conversions I feel a little stupid for having chosen to do the conversion the hard way.

I too would have liked to have molded my tail in, other than not having the talent to do so, I feel that '75 roadsters may be somewhat collectible in the far future. The previous owner Top Flighted my car back in 2000, so I'm limiting changes to bolt ons. This conversion is easier to do than most, and certainly makes a rubber bumper car look much sportier. It was also past time to replace my urethane bumper!

I wish my original bumpers we're as good as yours Scura. The previous owner said he had the originals boxed up. That was true, but they were in a 2' square box with the biggest piece being 12" big! So on top of everything else that needed attention bumpers were needed to make it even resemble a Corvette.
But here is an update. I took these pics today with the new wheel and tire combo. With paint and detail, they actually look pretty good on the car. In fact, I really like them. And these shots also show how nice these bolt-on parts fit without messing with the future collectibility of an original '75 roadster.
Ps... I wish this winter would finally end!
