Hi h,
A pretty interesting set of photographs!!!
2 cars with black-wall tires.
Some very good examples of typical body 'gaps' and 'trim heights'.
Thanks very much for posting them.
Regards,
Alan

Is the orange? convertible a used car?
B.F.Goodrich tires and a wheel weight on the outside of the wheel.

Sure it's 1972? All the cars have amber parking lights which ended early in 1971 production (fall of 1970). My december 1970 build '71 already had clear lenses.

'70 cars had clear lenses and bulbs; '71 cars had clear lenses and amber bulbs; '72 had amber lenses. Those are 1972 cars.

Of course, you're right! I'm getting old.

I think late '71's got the amber lenses, though?

Neat photos. Curious why the trim rings and caps are all missing from the cars. Thanks for sharing.

I believe it was just to avoid theft of the trim rings or PO2 caps while parked on the lot. The rings may have been installed as part of the "pre delivery inspection" when the car was purchased

Perhaps, or maybe they were not shipped to Canada with the rings installed and the dealer would install them on delivery of the car. Still you would think that they would want them to look nice on the lot.

Rally wheel trim rings and caps (or P02s) were shipped with the car in the rear storage compartment regardless of destination. Installation on the car was part of dealer prep.

For aluminum wheels, the center caps were shipped in the rear compartment.

For sure Golden Mile.

Remember the "swinging lady" billboard sign for Golden Mile?

Golden Mile Chev is no longer. That location is a Toyota or Mazda dealership now.

Brown Chevelle in the background of the first pic is a '72 ( three bar grille and I piece front signal lights, so the pics should be after Aug '71.

This old car lot picture also shows the cars without any trim rings installed!

Thanks for posting these, my 72 was bought new at Golden Mile. It still has some Golden Mile stickers on the windshield that I've always wondered about. The cars in the photos don't have them.

Nice! so if it is the same dealership that your car was sold new at, then you would have a Canadian sold car - so for what its worth this should mean that you can get GM of Canada heritage certificate?

Agree, I worked at a Chevy dealer back in the day. All cars came without hub caps installed. Installation was part of the dealer prep procedure.
