20 something with a classic
I recently attended a car show to support the local elementary school.
About 20 cars showed up, since the weather was threatening.
One of the cars that came was driven by a 20 something young man that was very enthusiastic about his car.
His car was a ... wait for it .... 1970 LT-1 Corvette convertible survivor car. Red with saddle interior (original colors) with P/S, P/B, T/T, AF/FM Stereo, alarm system.
The car really looked great, and I was so pleased to see a young person so enthusiastic about old Corvettes.
Car #2018, looks like an early January car.
.
It made my day.

Hi jv,
I agree.. nice looking car!
70 LT-! cars are pretty special, especially convertibles!!!
Regards,
Alan
Not sure about power steering on a CTU broadcast code engine. (The size of the oil pan.)
Certainly could have been added though.

Hey, I am a 20 something with a Corvette At 28, I love to do anything classic car related. In fact, I do the Great Race yearly (Classic car only timed endurance race). Some people grow up staring at posters of Ferraris and Lambos, and some of us grow up with american muscle on our walls. Every generation has some!
All I ask is that you dont associate me with the skinny jean wearing, man bunned, cant change their own oil 20 somethings
Super nice car though, good on him!

They are out there!
My son built a 68 Camaro with an LS motor and 5 speed! Was offered some big $$ for it and it is long gone!
Yesterday I get an email with him wanting me to guess what he bought!
A 70 Challenger!
I understand, not a corvette but in the spirit of the thread, young guy with American muscle cars in his blood!
My other son loves his Subaru's and has his dream WRX Turbo that could run with my 69 in the 1/4 mile! I'm fixing that now! LOL!

It's not an LT1. Engine code CTO is a 350/350 with AC and MT.

could have sworn that it is a O on the end of the code, thanks.

Awesome.
When I was 20 I had my first new car I ever bought. A 1984 Camero 5.0 H.O. with a 5 speed and 3.73 gears. Even though it had roughly 200HP and a 305 but it was still fun. I graduated to the Z28 from my first car a 1973 MGB which was fun and I learned a lot about cars keeping that thing on the road.

If it was driveable, there's no way a '65 GTO convertible was a POS.
Today that "POS" would be worth about $20K...regardless of condition.

My first car at 17 was a 77 Camaro Type LT. In my 20's I had a couple of 78 Trans Ams and a 86 Monte Carlo SS T-Top car that I stripped and painted in black Glasurit, color sanded to a mirror finish.
Also, bought my first new car in my 20's, a 96 Trans Am 6 speed T-Top black on black.
I gave my Brother a 80 Z28 4 speed for his 15th birthday, 24 years ago, and he still has it.

That's awesome to see. Good for that young man, that is a great Corvette to own. I know its unusual to see as not many young people are interested in the hobby today....
When I was 23 in 1997, I tried to use my first term Marine Corps re-enlistment bonus (15K) to buy a Daytona Yellow 69 427/390.... I always wanted a chrome bumper BB or Midyear Vette..... but my 15K bonus wasn't enough money and the credit union wouldn't finance the remainder for me on a car that old. If I would have been more mature with finances, the additional money I need to buy the car outright wouldn't have been difficult to come up with (6K) but being a young Marine back them meant I wasted alot of money on stupid stuff and lived paycheck to paycheck.....
I hung in there thou and "few years" later, I was able to buy the nice 72 LS5 4spd I have today.

Good to see its out being run and not stored forever. 20 yrs from now he will have memories, not just a picture.
People wont develop an interest for cars they never see on the road! See many complain about it but too worried about value. Hell, its a car get it insured and drive it.
Surviving the 20 yr old mark was a miracle, will leave it at that. lol
