This is easy...
Marlboro Maroon '67 Coupe with black leather & stinger.
L36, A/C, P/S, P/B, P/W & a close ratio 4-speed.
Bolt-on wheels, redlines...
I've wanted this car since I was 10 years old. In 1967......
Assuming that I have to make the car a Corvette, {there are other really neat cars out there, folks!}, I would choose......
1965 Nassau Blue 396/425hp, 4-speed (M20) coupe with white leather interior, PS/PB, AM/FM radio, wood/tele steering wheel, N14 side exhausts, and Goldline tires with Knock-off wheels.
Makes me smile, just thinking about it. In my younger days, I would have opted for the FI small block engine. But that 'first' BB Corvette engine turned out to be something special.
I wonder what one of those [in good condition] would sell for today???

either a 57 big brake air box fuelie or a 67 435 horse convertible with side pipes. Only reason I didn't say L-88 is because I'd want to drive it, a lot!
63 Z-06 Split window coupe, fuelie, 4-speed, black on red, no options.
Funny thing is, i dont even want the Z-06 stuff... its all horribly obsolete... but the best is the best. Had to think about the big tank, but decided i'd rather have the storage space rather than a massive, leaky gas tank.
Owning or even driving a Vette was not even on my radar until 2014 or so. The only car that makes my ticker thump is a 68 Charger R/T 426 hemi and A833 4 speed. Would prefer black with white interior but any color combo will do in a pinch. Oh, and the blonde in the go go boots in another post. Good Lord.
In March of '83 people were standing in line & paying over list for the all-new Corvette.
Sound familiar?...
That's been pretty much the case every time a new generation Corvette has been introduced. Remember 1967, when so few cars were sold in anticipation of the new C3? One of my best friends sold his C2 so he could buy a new '68- a British Green over black Coupe with the L79 327, 4-speed, and loaded to the gills with options. Years later, he converted the car into a B-Production racer. In those days, everybody wanted a C3!
To be fair, at the time and given the pent up demand, I can see why - must have been like a space ship at the time.
Still one of the great automotive designs in my opinion - just not the dash.
1990 was the high water mark of the C4 in my opinion - early body, late dash. Perfect.
So if you have such high praise for the C4, why not reorient your quest from a C3 to a C4? It sure would make finding a car to your liking in your price range easier.
the last 67 BB built was a a silver over black coupe with side pipes 437/390 and i think a M20
Nowhereman....yes, I knew that...I was RIGHT THERE when it went across the block at B-J....for 'stupid money' Terry Michaelis was the seller after a frame up resto.
I should have said the last Goodwood Green Big block....whatever the number was. Super-classic.
