I'd buy a boat load of Apple stock. Hold on to them, make a fortune and buy any Vette I wanted 50 years later!!! Ike

Still one of the great automotive designs in my opinion - just not the dash.

1990 was the high water mark of the C4 in my opinion - early body, late dash. Perfect.
The worst Vette I ever drove was an '85. One of the best a '95 Coupe.
I think the C4 saw more improvement then maybe any gen....

I can't play that game, as I'd end up with 165bhp and a Vega steering wheel. LOL

What would you buy?

Only rule is, you can only have one....

(ZL-1 is exempt from the game)

I'd have a '69 Coupe
L88
M22
Riverside Gold
Black Leather
Side pipes

What would you order?
Same thing for me, except with a black exterior, and maybe power steering....

I can't play it either, as a Corvette would not be in the offing. That said, there would be other options...

Interesting post when you get down to it.
In 1965 you could buy with almost $10,000.00.....a huge amount for the time.

Two Corvettes NEW
One Ferrari 250 GTO used....(best buy)
Four or Five BMW 507's
A Ferrari 250 TR and a BMW 507
A couple of 1950's Ferrari Racecars...
A Corvette Grand Sport...
A Cobra

or a P-51 Mustang....

ect....

10,000 shares of Amazon stock in May 1997 for ~$17k. It's now worth >$30M. Then I'd go buy whatever Corvette I wanted and have money left over.

Black
Red Interior (maybe black)
Redline Tires
Big Block L36 427 with 427 hood
Muncie 4-speed
NO Airconditioning
Manual Brakes
Manual Steering
Fender Gill Inserts

And here is the thing......your thread is to buy a new one in 69. My 69 will be BETTER than Chevrolet built them in 69. All it takes is alot of energy, and it does take money. But its worth every penny.

That is how you fulfill this dream......you aren't going to find this mythical car for $15K - $20K. It does not exist.
You completely missed the point.....
