I could be wrong but I thing the thread starter was 4Vettes.
Over 9,000 cars registered for it this year, it's a MASSIVE week long car event that spans multiple cities along the coast. Highly recommend it! I'm excited to have my Corvette there next year!

I'll search for the the thread you mentioned

Went ahead and pulled the radiator support and remaining brackets off the front end. This was luxurious: sitting in my roller chair, smoking a cigar, listening to podcast, and sipping beer while I wrenched with my Milwaukee power tools! Wish more wrenching was this relaxing lol All the metal is in good shape. I'm going to sandblast and paint to refresh all of these pieces. It's amazing how light the front is with all this steel removed too!

Make sure to check for cracks in the fiberglass around where the radiator surround bolts in.
I found a couple that my painter is fixing and reinforcing.
He said it’s not uncommon to find small stress cracks in this area.

I need to check closer in that area, thanks! I did find that the drivers side fender liner separated where it meets the lower valance area. Looks to be an easy fix with fiberglass.

My painter told me not to panic.
He said it’s very common to find small stress cracks after 50 plus years.

Below is where the fender/valance seams have separated on my front clip. Just going to clamp and fiberglass back together.

Shouldn't that be bonded with the uerathane there?
I think that is the way my inner fenders are attached to the uppers.

I'm not sure what's supposed to be there. What kind of urethane would be used?

Tonight I got the interior gutted. Bagged and tagged my hardware, and tomorrow I'll be boxing and wrapping up all the parts. What have y'all used to preserve the big stuff (dash pad and seats)? I'm thinking of just sealing them in contractor trash bags and putting what will fit in rubbermaid tubs in tubs.

I used the big rubbermaid style tubs. But I got clear ones, so I could see inside. And flip top lids so I didn't lose them.
Walmart. I gutted the entire car and wound up with 22 of the big ones.
Don't forget to make a index list so you can find stuff later!!!!
They stack well, and there were not that many things that would not fit.
Some have 2 dozen labeled bags inside, etc.

I'll attach a copy of my spreadsheet if you think it'll help.

I still can't find stuff!

Sometimes anyway. Most times I can find it.

But I just found my frame reinforcement brackets that I was looking for 2 years ago Too late for them now. Guess I forgot to write down where I put them.

I’ve purchased almost every part for my car new and sold off or tossed the old oem parts.
I sectioned off my garage in separate areas for suspension, engine, drivetrain, body, interior and boxed all the new parts in boxes.
Every time I add a part into a box I use a wide sharpie pen and mark each side of every box.
At about year three I ran out of room, built more shelves, two roll around shelves and two additional sheds out side.
I found more room when the engine was built and now with the suspension going onto the frame even more room.
The problem I’ve had is when I run completely out of room in one section, I had to plug boxes in where I could find shelf space.
Many smaller boxes are behind other boxes, so they are hidden.
Right now I have a new Holley fuel pump in a box somewhere in the garage.
Its on my parts purchased list but I gave up looking for it and bought another.
It will show up.

I always thought I was fairly organised and detailed but good to see others take it to the next level. Excellent 😀

Yeah, really. I mean that's insane, right? But insane in a good way.

Yeah well I jumped into this frame-off madness a while ago.
And with my old memory I need all the help finding something I can get!
Where did I put "X" 4 years ago? Are you kidding me?

I would recommend removing the old glue with a heat gun and replacing it with new brown one like I did here: Three... two... one... lift off! - Page 26 - CorvetteForum - Chevrolet Corvette Forum Discussion

I've been getting that Jeep ready in the back ground to hit the mountains in two weeks: will have some crazy pics after that trip! It's a supercharged rockcrawler that's built to flex and take a beating!
