What, if anything do side pipes have to do with air-conditioning?
if your removing exhaust manifolds and installing headers. You may need a spacer on one bolt.
This however is obvious and pertains to headers.
Side pipes mount on the frame on the side of the car.
No where near anything to do with Air-con
Not sure what year/application but as 4-vettes said shouldn't come into play with the side pipes, as for headers I used the stock stud and about a 1" spacer for my headers... using the stock AC bracket, you can measure the manifold flange and the header flange and make a spacer for the difference, I just used a piece of stainless tubing I had.
Installing side pipes, or any headers by extension absolutely overlaps with the air conditioning system.
You have a 1976, if it’s a late 76’ with the R4 compressor no additional brackets are needed. Just use the mounting stud in place of a header bolt on the very front hole.
If you have an early 76’ with the A6 compressor you’ll need an additional bracket that attaches with the header bolts. It’s one of the things that’s generic to a small block Chevy, so there’s ways to forgo the “corvette tax” on a simple bracket.
