Forum Split Yay or Nay?
Dep
You don't start a new thread there unless you have something of an advanced technical nature. Run of the mill stuff like what brake fluid to use or what kind of intake manifold will wake up an L48 stays put.
That way these threads we have so much fun learning from don't drop off the map so quick....Threads such as putting an LS1 into a C3, building 14" brake rotors, L88 headlights, installing a 5 or 6 speed tranny, putting a turbo or blower on, building new suspension pieces.
The real good stuff.
Obvioulsy i won't be starting any new threads there but i look forward to learning and wonder how many neat things i miss.

I don't know why you removed your posts...I wasn't offended at all..I can take a good stab, no problem (and I'm pretty sure that's not the reason for removing it) .. as for pissing match, I can't quite seem to find the odor trail or the yellow stains.... please help me find it.

I do see four relevant camps and that is based on having owned a 1979 over 17 years and now a C2 for about two. And experience here on the Forum for some time.
Number one is persons like me who drive pretty original cars and have minor mechanical and cosmetic aliments. I posted on late C3 arm rest repairs today as an example. I also posted in the past on heater core, valve stem seals, rear main seal, etc. The things most of us with a set of wrenches can do, or foul up as need be. Has a place.
Number two is the performance enthusiasts. Not for me but those folks seem to know their stuff. High-lift this and compression ratio that loses me but it is fascinating reading. ZZ* makes my head dizzy. Has a place. I don't need that engine but I can dream. Looks like 75% of the Forum is now in that category. That's OK with me.
Number three. O/T. Personal. I plead guilty to going the pet route from time-to-time. Just fun. But on other occasions there have been Forum members who sought solace in the comfort of an on-line community. Not many but they can be heart-wrenching. Check over on C2 this evening. Has a place.
Number four. Do you like my ride? OK, we all do. Strutt your stuff. But they can be boring. Want to see my pretty 1967/327 again? I think not. And those Moroso/Edelbrock valve covers are boring I see on most cars. Nice paint job but what the heck. I plead guilty to responding to those nevertheless.
Having said all that, it is easy to be critical without a suggested response. After all we are on-line to the world and with little or no accountability. So I struggled through the day with this question and here is my conclusion.
C3 Forum (Overall/Blanket)
C3 General (General Inquiries, Maintenance, Repair)
C3 Performance (Speed/Performance Enhancements)
C3 Community (Social/OT/General Topics/Events/Smoozing)
I leave this with you for consideration. Appreciate your views in reply.
Category 3!
