A tech section has NOTHING to do with egos whatsoever. Just because we are more interested in what makes a car tick (and how to make it tick FASTER) , doesn't mean it's our ONLY interest. It DOES mean it's our PRIMARY interest. Reading level isn't relavent either. It's more a matter of setting up the C3 section to be more "user friendly". Why FORCE tech guys to read/scan/search through endless "my paint is prettier than yours" posts to find the answer to a tech question you posted that gets buried and never answered BECAUSE there are those non-tech posts??? We aren't saying ELIMINATE the paint/fuzzy dice/touchy-feely posts, just leave them in the General section and let the tech guys have their own section. If YOU have a carb go bad or an electrical problem or brakes that don't work and need advice/help, I'm sure YOU wouldn't want to sort through a bunch of silly stuff to find the answer to a question you asked. If the question is asked in the tech section, it would have a MUCH better chance of getting answered BECAUSE the tech guys that you find so disdainfully egomaniacal would BE there to SEE it.
Some day EVERYONE is gonna need a "know-it-all big ego", and if you drive them away by forcing them to post to the General section, you WON'T have them to answer your questions. You may not realize it, but quite a few knowledgeable people have already abandoned this forum because of the turn it has taken.

well ive been sitting here for about twenty minutes trying to figure out the nicest way to respond to a post that calls me a crybaby and a retard but i think im finally at a loss for words. his response almost sounds like one of those NCRS guys that thinks adding an airfreshiner to your car kills it and everything that corvette stands for. oh well i guess there are people out there that are still afraid of change and lash out at others even if they are just throwing out ideas. I on the other hand will continue to come back here if the forum splits or not. there are to many nice and helpful people on this forum to leave just because of a format change.

just look at the examples that i posted earlier from the divided C5 forum and you will plainly see that it will not be as easy as you think because general posts will be in tech and tech posts will be in general...

you will just have 2 or 3 or 4 places to have to look for what you want to see...i dont understand why some members cant see that...

i posted about 20 examples earlier...
its not the fix all that some people here think that it will be...

besides...it dosnt really matter to me anymore because like a lot of others...i have been beat into submission and have changed my vote in order to let the topic die once and for all and we wont have to have this argument every 2 or 3 months...

i will just sort thru 2 or 3 or more forums to find the stuff i find interesting...i can handle that even tho it IS more hassel...
