Maybe. I'm not sure if he will let me rip his carb off. It is all plumbed up with hardlines for NOS and stuff.

dwncchs I'm begining to think the problem is not in the timing. I have
not had a problem bolting a new carb on that did not work good. I
think the next step is to look for a problem with the carb what do you think.

I dont know have pulled most of my hair out. That would be easy to try(carb change)but I think we need more vac.readings from other members on their small blocks---that guy that has the same setup maybe.

Half closed could have given you a higher reading.

When I close the choke slowly it starts to bogg down like it is gonna die. so I let off and tried again, same results. I just read it with no choke and it was still 10.

justind you know your old carb was OK you probably have less vacuum
with the new cam but it should not be causing this much headach
now that the engine is warm is the choke wide open.

Now what I meant was to close the choke just about an 1/4 inch then try to rev up keeping the choke at that spot.

Well, With the choke a little closed it still will pop. I have had the pcv valve blocked off for a long time. When it kicks back you can see gas spray out of the carb. If your really on it and it is retarded then the gas spraying out will ignite.

Justind can you call around all the auto parts stores and find an
adapter to mount your spreadbore, if you find one don't drop the
hood it could make things high enough to damage your hood.

I called the 2 part stores around here that carry carb stuff and nobody has the adapter. The rest of the stores don't have that kind of stuff they have to order it. Which takes a couple weeks or so they say.

Nothing happens. It stays the same. I had unhooked it for the sake of testing vac leaks and just never hooked it back up. Haha it isn't that scary.
