I watching the video and noticed when you rev up and back off the vacumn only goes to about 18 ---I can get 24 out of this 350 and its duration is more than yours.
Also, I don't need any of those vac lines to run my engine right. I was thinking of unpluging them all then testing the vac. To see it I have a leak somewere.
I was reving about the same as yours ---your reading might not come as high because your throttle plates are open more(higher idle)No you dont need the vac line except the PVC--keep that hooked up that keeps your crankcase gasses clear.
Does anyone know an easy way to check to see if the camshaft is 1 tooth off (without taking the cover off?) I know the long drawn out way and its almost as easy to just take the cover off.
I hooked up the brake booster and the line to the tranny. My vac is still 11 and it doesn't kill in gear. Might be cause my idle is still a little high in gear it is at 1000 out of gear it is about 1200-1300. So I might stall if I bring it down.
Just thought I would toss this into the mix. A Lars quote from a previous backfire issue.
"Your jetting doesn't sound right, and it doesn't match the BG jetting requirement for any 750 MD carb. Your symptoms are those of a lean condition. Jet the carb to its correct stock specs and then bump it up 2 sizes if you need to in order to cure the backfire. Backfire through the carb (if timing and valve problems are not the case) is a lean condition."

Good luck with the new setup, I feel your pain while remembering similar challenges many years ago in my Father's dirt floor garage rebuilding engines and trannies.

The only way I can think of is using a degree wheel.
The kid will have to the bank to take out a loan if he has to keep going out to buy tools.
