I only meant you take em apart and put em back together so often there are no threads left--only kidding----My guess is valves and then mismatched carb due to low manifold vacumn

Ah ha!
Now I get it
Actually Ive had the same QJ on the car for a few weeks now
Its a keeper
I do have one spare that runs just as good but it aint as purdy.
I think Im done with my Corvette as far as carbs go.
I would imagine that the only other one I have to tune is the one for my El Camino.
Now I have friends asking for rebuilds... I really cant do a complete rebuild until I get setup to properly bore the throttle shafts........ so, thats my next venture

Im going through my books right now
I will call the guy I was using for rebuilds tomorrow and ask him what he uses
I think it can be done easily with a drill press as long as everything is correctly in place

Ill let you know dwncchs

I have a few throttle plates that I can sacrifice for testing purposes

Since many thing have been checked and/or changed, it would seem that the problem would be something like the carb or distributor (which have not been changed unless i missed something over the past 3 months).
My guess is a long shot, but I'll say the camshaft is bad. Not hat its too big, but worn lobes.

Your mom knows how to change a camshaft?

If I asked my Mom I would have all new lobes........... ON MY HEAD from her rolling pin!

She doesn't understand the concept of horsepower. All she knows right now is that it costed me alot of money and it doesn't work. 20 minutes ago she was like can't we take it somewhere to have it fixed. I said well I told you a month ago I wanted to get a mechanic to look at it and you said try to figure it out yourself, you can't change your story like that.

Don't worry if he shows up with white nitrile gloves. He is a registered nurse and mechanics do use them. I WOULD be worried however if he shows up with any lubricant other than penzoil.
