yeah..if it ran I would probably have done it but the susp. needs some final work and also needs a little welding here and there (and a longer driveshaft)
the rear is intentionally high..it would hit the original fender arches otherwise because I still have to cut it after properly placing the L88 flares... you can probably see that the wheels are centered in the flares..or sort of anyway..they are about 3" further back and the track width is about 2" wider than stock (depending on adjustment of rear suspension arms)
Norval..maybe next year eh who knows. I think most of the work is behind me now, I have only the rear calipers to sort out...oh and the pinion parking brake/rear end pump pulley combo.
Rich, rubber strips? Do you mean between the container and the mounting frame? Maybe, the tank frame will be powdercoated so it'll be pretty scratch resistant, I'll probably paint the container.. maybe I'll just put some rubber strips between the 2 just to be safe.
Drive it without the body looks evil like that
man you have some serious modifications on that car!
Lookin good as always
how is it in the Netherlands do you have to go thru inspection of the car?
if so is there any concern about all the modifications?
Here in sweden when you modify like that the car becomes a modified car with higher insurances and such...

Yes...I was thinking of tank(container) chaffing on supports as suspension/frame works while you were driving...sort of a "cushion" maybe 1/8" thick...
Not for "hitting" the road.....

yeah, yearly inspection but it's nothing like the one you have to go through to get the licence plates..the yearly inspection is a breeze. These guys don't know what's original and what not...if steeroids, transverse leafs and what not can pass my stuff will pass also. I'll just give them that puppy eyes stare and say "I don't know mister, I think that's original...I bought it like that" if not then..well...I'm screwed It's nothing like sweden here..in germany you have to have every modification entered into your registration papers...if I had to dot hat I'd be walking around with an encyclopedia sized registration

It can't move, the whole deck plate is bolted down with..I don't know..16 bolts or so? (didn't count) but I'll probably do it anyway..i'll use that sticky back foam tape stuff. :

Inspection guy:"im pretty sure there isnt any twin turbo c3 corvettes...."
You: "humm strange im pretty sure the guy i bought it from said it was NCRS..."
That gas tank weighs next to nothing, it's much lighter than a stock one..and who says you have to fill the whole thing? It's a 32 gallon tank. See..there's actually an idea behind it. If you have a 20 gal tank mounted just as low, when you fill it up to 10 gallons or so then it's half filled, do that with this tank and it's only 1/3rd full...the fuel bulk will sit lower...lowering the Cg. Maybe not much but still. But hey...I couldn't expect a single positive comment from you.

That's an interesting idea. Are there any baffles in there?
Also, you'll need new rubber. All of the tread is gone on those Will your inspectors fall for those being original or do you have a spare "inspection" set?
It's nice to see that I was wrong about the shifter lever placement. Now that things are starting to take shape, it looks (as you said it would) like it's in more or less the stock position.
Very big milestone. Congrats!

the tank is full of foam and there's an internal trap door sump where the pickup tube sits in. I was thinking about upgrading to a richardson batwing pickup...maybe.
I have street tires here for the inspection. A complete set of these wheels with hoosiers on the rear and ****ty bfgs on the front and also a set of 15s with yokohamas all round.
The shifter is indeed a bit further back, it's just in front of the parking brake. That is the only reason why I didn't move the engine back a couple of inches..if I had a different tranny I would have done that.
Congrats Marck, what are your plans for the chassis and components, you mentioned powdercoating which would involve disassembling everything, which at this stage wouldn't be TOO difficult. My fuel cell is also 32gal-FYI, good for loooooooong runs down the Autobahn, and if you enter NASCAR, less pitstops! Be sure to use foam "sticks" in the cell to cut down on slosh when cornering.
I'm running Wilwood discs on all 4 corners and looking for a non-hydrolic E-brake solution, what are you looking at?
David
Beat me to it on the foam, also my engine is set back 12", lowered 4", right 4", but still has nice cockpit geometry.....FYI
