I think it was around $130 but I don't remember the sellers name.
I also bought one from ebay for $130, it was from member HotRodder. It maybe the same guy you bought yours from. I just started to use it had it works great!

I've had the carb rebuilt and then changed in the midst of all that and that didn't solve anything. Not a fuel problem. I went through a few different alternator applications trying to keep up with all the electric components I was adding, and I never solved it that way either. It seemed, when I had this problem in an old Dodge truck, that when I switched from a new can starter to a new mini starter...the problem stopped. I just don't get it if it's not the starter getting hot and not wanting to turn the motor.
I had the same problem in a chevy truck years ago. I installed full length headers in the truck beacause I beefed the motor up some and the headers were really close to the starter. At the time I couldn't figure out why it was hard to start if the motor was hot and it started fine before the mods. A buddy of mine said that the starter was getting excess heat form the headers and that I needed to get a heat sheild. I got one from summit for $14 and it solved the problem.
You can try a heat sheild. Could be just a $14 fix.

That I would do for sure, but I'm replacing the motor and the new starter is a mini...so I will hopefully not have any of these issues any more.

I don't remember, when I get home from work I will check. I have a fairly high compression motor and it turns it over with ease.

That's a little scary...not knowing who made it or if it was even born in this country. I have no doubt it works great turning your high compression motor. I just wonder how long it'll last...as that's the downfall for cheap starters.

Thats true, it was only $130 so if it dies early so what. If it does die I will cough up the cash for a good one. I would imagine it is probaly the same quality as the catalog brand names like Summit or Jegs.

I say stick with GM stock wheels so long as the tooth count matches.
