If my references are right, the LS-4 produced 275HP/390TQ. You're picking up some good power - but IMHO it's far too mild of a cam given the heads. The stock manifolds are hurting as well - if you can't do headers from an originality perspective I would at least consider having the stock manifolds extrude-honed to pick up some power.

Folks, I think I'm caught up again. Please remember that I have a "day job", so I won't always get to these right away. If you have something really urgent (i.e.,you're doing an immediate build and trying to make some decisions) PM me...but otherwise I'll get to the requests as soon as I can.

No propblem Billa. Most of us have that "Nasty" day job anyway. Sure do appreciate your time and effort doing these dynos. I will get the cam card from the builder and then repost later.

Searching on these numbers at www.cranecams.com didn't provide any results (their search sucks ). Can you send a pointer to the specific cam card?

Billa, maybe the problem is this is a custom grind. What specs do you need ?

That would be it Usually for a custom grind the vendor sends a complete cam card with the cam...but here's the information I need for a valid (within simulation limits) run. Ignore the Lifter acceleration rate as it's calculated from seat (.006) and .050 cam event timing.

Billa, Here is what the camcard had on it.

P/N 11-000-9 S/N M3394-07

CB 3014B/3035B HR 113.0
Gross lift .606/.601
Duration at .006 268/276
.050 valve timing

open 0, 38 close ABDC int
open 49, -5 close ABDC

Cam installed at 109 ICL

218/224 @ .050 duration
.357/.354 lobe lift
113 lobe separation

Hope this is what you need. Looking forward to the results.

I'll give a rundown on what i have :

lift @cam int. .420 exh .420
lift @valve int. .630 exh. .630 (arm ratio 1.5)

cam timing :
@.0205
int. 278° exh. 288°
events : intake : 29° BTDC 69° ABDC
exhaust : 79° BBDC 29° ATDC

@.050
int. 246° exh. 256°
Events : intake : 14° BTDC 52° ABDC
exhaust : 64° BBDC 12° ATDC

max lift : intake 108°ATDC , exhaust 117° BtDC

LCA : 112.5°

Lash is .02 both on intake and exhaust and set when hot.

no advance or retard of the cam.

That's all I have.

Thx

Yves

Default Sure, I'll go for it

Billa,

Thanks that is a nice offer. I've often wondered how it might compare to my Mustang dyno results....Here is mine, no rush:

-small block
-355", 4.030" bore X 3.48" stroke, OEM 5.7" rods
-AFR 180 street heads, 2.02 I X 1.6 E valves
http://airflowresearch.com/180sbc_sh.php
-9.75:1 static compression ratio
-750cfm Q-jet, Weiand 8000 manifold
http://www.holley.com/8000.asp
-1 5/8" full length headers into 2 1/2" exhaust with X-pipe & Magnaflows
-CC XE262H (pt # 12-262-4) computer cam, 1.5 full roller rockers
http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Se...umber=12-262-4

Thanks,

Installing the cam 4 degrees retarded (to keep DCR in the right range)

Motor is not built yet, so you are being very helpful.

Oh, and one question, did DD allow you to specify the rams horns with the bigger dumps, or did you have to use the standard ones?

Thanks again
-Fred
Billa,

I've revamped and would like to get an updated run if possible. I've changed a few things to get he compression ratio, quench and DCR more usable. Can you re-run my sim with the following changed parameters? Everything else is the same.

Pistons: 13.8cc dish piston
Head Gasket: .015 steel shim gasket, 4.1" bore

That combination lowers my Static CR down to around 9.5:1 and my DCR down to 7.8:1 with a very good quench.

Thanks again
-Fred

Guys, I've just been buried at work, school and real life. I'm working to get back in the saddle after the holidays, so just bear with me. I'll get to what I can get to when I can get to it.
