And that is an unfair conclusion. ...
I'm just nieve, I guess I just filtered out some of the more "powerful" comments when I read them. I thought we were making some constructive criticisms while trying to work through the issues during installation. I think we did quite well. I hope everyone quickly realised that this was a trial / learning experience.

Anyway, thanks for replying and taking action. Your response mean alot in the way of positive customer service. I would highly recommend this system for future buyers.

I may take you up on a set of straight, polished tips for my '73.

Btw, We I have confirmed that the crossmember tubes are not sysmetrical. That is why the Axle pipes are not symetrical. I'll scan the frame drawing from the shop manual and upload it so you can see we didn't just slap this system together.

Closing this one for now so I can do some reading.

Let's keep the criticism to constructive. No need for name calling. I believe Chris has explained the situation very well in the above thread and appears to be listening to the suggestions.

Been out of town all week, got back today and the Summit box was in the carport with the Hedman extensions in them. Hopefully get them hooked up again tomorrow and do away with the Bubba tubes. For my .02 worth, I was glad to see Chris get in here and address the topics. I also like the system and recommend it.

Oh...Excuse me, I thought this was the United States of America. What third world country are you from, Irish Mac? Nothing I said was untrue and I did no name calling...until now..You idiot! All Chris did was try to sugar coat a bunch of B.S. I did say I liked their product after I spent way to much time re-building their mistakes. Some of the stuff they send out might be dead on perfect, but based on mine and others who have posted, there appears to be a lot of variation in the pipe bends, lengths, and hanger placement....not to mention the parts shortages and unpolished ends. I merely suggested that they figure out a way to make their procedure idiot proof. If I had a business, I'd want real people to give me the facts straight up, so I can make things right....and not have some idiot censoring the truth, just because said idiot doesn't know poop from shinola. As far as my fellow Corvette friends, this is a cool system, but be prepared to do some cutting and welding to make it right. I'm trying to help people on the Corvette forum....I don't have a clue what you're doing.

I saw a few posts referencing the crossmember....the pypes site states a dual hump crossover needs to be purchased. Did anyone who installed this system on a C3 actually have to buy the crossmember?

It takes the crossmember that has the dual exhaust holes made in it. I think 80 and up had a different crossmember but it wouldnt be the first time I was wrong.... Worked fine on my 78.

Guess I'll have to do some further checking....I'm crossing my fingers that I won't need it, since it costs $300 for the crossmember I'm in an 81.

You're going to need the crossmember. Like L82shark said, '80 & up has the single opening where the pipe passes thru. The Pypes system's x-pipe requires a crossmember with two openings. Ebay usually has them cheap.

You don't call out a mod in open thread....if you have a Q, you either email or use the IM....
