This was the previous motor in my yellow '81. 598ci, GRP aluminum rods, Brodix BB2-xtra heads, Howards roller (288/304 @ .050" with .867"/,780" lift) 15:1 compression.
Backed by Muncie M-22 4-speed. 3.55 rear. Fun to drive.
Lang
Hi Lang, I love your engine, i imagine that it will be twice hard to tune both carbs. jajajjaajja!. Very impressive combo, Did you have to modificate your muncie to support all this brute power of your 540?. thanks.
WOW.... Awesome. Could you answer me a pair of questions please?
1-. You built by yourself this engine?
2-. It doesn`t where do you buy it how many hps have this engine?
3-. what tranny do you use have to do any modifications on it?
In my country Spain when a car has a big engine we called it MORLACO,( it`s the same thing called your car a best with horns) so you have a big morlaco in yor car... jajaja!!!. i really live verts.. my first vette was a 75 vert. Congrats for your great car.
Thanks for the compliments! Morlaco it is....
1. The engine was built locally by Bradford Balance & Machine and it's based on the article Jim Moore (427 HotRod) wrote for Corvette Enthusiast a couple of years back.
2. I have not dyno'd the motor yet but it should easily be over 650 hp based on the tests that Jim wrote about.
3. I'm running a TKO 600 5 speed with a custom built 12-Bolt rear end and 3.73 gears.
Nobody......did you do any porting of the Holley tunnel ram? Any pics inside of it? We're doign a bunch of dyno testing right now on a 572 with a few single planes and a couple of tunnel rams...but I hadn't looked at Holley one.
Here's a 555" I built for a buddy. 775 HP in this configuration with *small* intake, carb and hyd roller cam.
This is mine...555", 871HP/746 lb ft. Pump gas...Holley EFI.
