it's internal size, a big block Chevy is a big block Chevy. it makes no difference if its a 395 or a 572. same for a small block

I agree, there is no replacement for displacement!

This is the engine in my '70 vert:
555 cu. in. with Brodix aluminum heads (340cc flow @ .650 lift, 236cc exhaust), Eagle 4340 forged rotating assembly, Mahle pistons, COMP hydraulic roller cam (.615/.632 lift, 238/246 degrees @ .050 Duration, 112 degree LSA), RPM Performer Air Gap intake, 950 CFM 4150 body carb, 10.3:1 static CR.

WOW.... Awesome. Could you answer me a pair of questions please?

1-. You built by yourself this engine?

2-. It doesn`t where do you buy it how many hps have this engine?

3-. what tranny do you use have to do any modifications on it?

In my country Spain when a car has a big engine we called it MORLACO,( it`s the same thing called your car a best with horns) so you have a big morlaco in yor car... jajaja!!!. i really live verts.. my first vette was a 75 vert. Congrats for your great car.

I built it. Family used to race cars back in the 70-80's. I still build a few engines every year; mostly for friends.

why most of you use iron block if you can use aluminium block to reduces weight in car and could be drive better with less weight on front end of the car?.

I like to see how you modify and build your own engines.... really great!!!!!!

Let us know how you like the VIc Jr heads, I don't understand why but they are always overlooked, great heads not much out there better, made 550HP on my prior small block 406ci and perfectly streetable, a pleasure to drive and would spin the tires at 40mph
