I am so in on this!
If he does a prototype and Gordon if you don't feel like being the test mule for the C3, I'd be glad to install them on my 70.

Will that set-up be as reliable as the electric set-up on the C2 Vette, better yet, the monstrosity that was on a 67 Rally Sport Camaro (a whole sheet of interlocked relays and 4 Cherry brand micro switches to troubleshoot and fail.) Chevy went from electric to vacuum for a good reason, last time I looked at my LS3 intake, there were 2 vacuum ports on the back of it, are you missing them on yours? Both Corvette and Camaro were electric then vacuum, I'll stick with the system I have since after proper rebuilding it works really well.

This is just a thought at this time and looking to see interest. Obviously there is a lot of interest. No this will not have all the old style stuff with sensors and relays. This is all modern electronics and will be light years ahead of the old systems, pun intended! This is a long way off but is a possibility if enough interest is shown.

What do you consider 'enough interest' and you realize a bunch of us dont have a 'long way off'

I'm intereseted, but the last time I saw a marketed conversion kit, it was over $1000, I'm not $1000 interested. In the $500 range, yup.

Update
Well I thought it would be a good idea to pass along some information. If you have not noticed, the video link is locked down to private access. Sorry about that but the company who will be producing the kit was not comfortable with having it out there I can certainly understand their point and I complied with their request. The good news is they are VERY interested in producing the kit and I am meeting with them next week to discuss the project. So, it all looks good and hopefully we will know more next week. Thanks again for all of the support!!

Here is the reason for the video being gone now.

The aftermarket business is very competitive. They do not want their ideas and products out for display until it is real product. I respect their time and engineering on this and when it becomes available and is a good product I or Jeff will let you know. They are a very well respected company and puts out excellent products. It will be worth the wait.

If it's the same video I viewed, all that was shown was the headlights opening and closing. That's it...open, close, open, close ad infinitum. No details of the mechanicals that I could see. Perhaps they're trying to guard against zombies with x-ray vision. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Dave, somewhere else is a set of drawings from the first electric conversion I have heard of, from Chris McDonald, McSpeed.....

he used the Firebird light motors....and controller panel....

IMO, the easy way is to use a linear motor like on my wiper door, ebay about 30 bux each....use radio shack magnetic burglar alarm window switches like I used on the wiper door, that stops the action at the end of stroke, same wiring diagram I built with 3 relays to control the whole mess, each light independent of each other.....now IF you wanted a control rod running laterally under there, you could easy activate both at once, and so just one set of relays and ONE actuator....whole thing maybe 200 bux at MOST....bet I get it done less than 100......

and as always, vacuum sux.....
