yes, though the torque converter needs spacers because the flywheel is 1/2" closer to the block as measured from the bellhousing, mounting flange
I've never heard of spacers between the flywheel and converter? The 700r4 converter does have some pretty big blocks welded to the converter for the flywheel bolts but lets get back to the good stuff
Fatcat!!!! What's going on Bro with the machine shop? Any good news yet?
LOL

NOT A CHANCE! I am so impatient I won't sleep tonight!!!!
nah, if you were really impatient, you would have ordered a crate engine as soon gkull, or whoever it was started itemizing machine shop costs etc.....

Hahaha my boss (who is BTW a great engine builder) seems to think my block may not need much and is why he sent me to his machine guy. That is the only reason I have been waiting. Hahaha of course he stays an arm length away from my project.

that's good, If I had someone like that alongside(no offense to mountains of wisdom on this board) I would do the same thing! Even if the rebuild cost double that of a crate....well maybe I wouldn't go quite that far.

Here is his (My boss') most recent engine...I have no idea what it is but I have heard it started and it is a beast!!!!
Just dropped the block off at the machine shop. He said he was going to clean it up tomorrow, measure it, and prob hone it unless he found a real problem. He is not charging me for anything. He said the crank was already balanced and looked great just needs polished. Going to take the pistons tomorrow he said he would charge $40 to mount all new pistons. he also said may not need to buy all new pistons unless I just want to, he wants to look at them. Overall he thought very little needed to be done but again tomorrow will be the tell all.

Don't worry Fatcat, you'll have to be well over 500hp before you'll puke iron out the bottom
very true.... I've gone a bit north of that without that issue (sawing in half).
