Steering column
hi, does anyone know what size are the nuts that hold the steering column to the firewall... im missing both and dont know what size to order? should i go with stainless steel or not necesary?

Flange nuts are correct. Grade 5 acceptable. But do as you like. And for what it is worth...there is a steel plate that mounts from the firewall side. This plate has one 5/16 stud attached to it...and the other is a carriage bolt. This stud and carriage bolt is what comes through the firewall and allows you to secure your steering column at the firewall.

thanks, ill order some nuts.. i actually have the plate and studs just no nuts on them... im restoring the whole interior tried some nuts but none seemed to go in easily... probably a fine thread nut... so i thought best to ask as i cant go to the local hardware store and get it, they only have metric... will order from uk.
