Default A-arm/Frame Dimension Question

I want to check the a-arm/shock tower frame cross dimension (a-arm to a-arm on a big block car) on my 72. I've searched the AIM, service manual, and the web for a length/number but no luck so far. Can anyone help out here? Also, where exactly do you measure too to check this?

The measurement between the shock towers is 26-3/8"

You check where the shims touch the frame right where the studs come through the frame that hold the upper control arm shafts

Thanks Mooser. Just what I wanted.
Can I ask where you got this dimension from? I couldn't find it anywhere.

It shows up here and there. I needed it when I built my spreader bar mounts for the BB.

One of the diagrams you'll find is from a 79 frame manual (same as the others)

There are a few threads here on the forum where it pops up (at least one I thanked someone for posting since I knew I'd need it, can't find that anywhere to give credit to

Etc. Etc.

And the one that I referenced back to is from Van-Steel

Where they have a jig to check
