Pulling the 454 in my 72 to reseal and repaint block and heads. I was thinking about adding solid motor mounts while I have it out. Does anyone make solid mounts for it? I think Moroso does, but I couldn't find anything definite on it.
Thanks,
Sam
Dang it, found my answer. Looks like Moroso does still make them #62530. Couldn't find it in Moroso catalog, but found it on Summit lol. Has anyone used them on their big block? Just want to make sure there are no issues.
Thanks,
Sam
Update. Got the motor out, re-sealed, cleaned, and painted. Installed new oil pan, pump, and pick up. Installed Moroso mounts with ARP bolts. Added chrome timing cover and black balancer cover. Have to do some clean up on the engine compartment before I can put it back in.
I have Moroso solid motor mounts on my small block. One thing I would recommend is to check that the motor mounts slide over the chassis mounts enough to get the bolt in. Mine wouldn't drop down with the weight of the engine on them. I had to lift the engine up and spread the mount. Only happened on one side but it was a PITA.
Also, you might want to upgrade that oil filter.

Thanks, I will look for that. Usually use hp4 filter, but this engine is bone stock. Cast bottom end 2 bolt main with mild cam. Planning to build a 540 next year.

That's a thing of beauty
Definitely WIX filters.
All I use on a street driven stock 427.
Thanks for the pic.

I picked up a WIX filter today and ordered a new upper radiator hose since the last one I bought was too short. I also picked up some fiberglass and resin to patch a hole I found on the A/C housing on the firewall. Was going to patch it with tape for quick fix but decided I better do it right since I have the engine out already.
