I for one think it’s a really good looking engine.
I’m more in the plain and clean over chrome and bling.

I did test it on the dyno/but I also have a prediction, it will run low 11s in my 3970 pound C-10 long bed truck.

Wow... those are big block numbers.... Sure would love to see the dyno print out...can you please post? what heads specs, flow? Full cam specs?
And doesn't a c-10 weigh like 3600 lbs? i did a little research.. thoes heads are good for 200 to max 250 cfm modified,,,,, which tells me this is motor is closer to 400hp, max, maybe..
prove me wrong...

Just noted your posted weight.. 3970!!!! wow.... you will turn 13's

Are you sure? And please theres no issue with your skepticism with me, I welcome it.

"Wow... those are big block numbers...." Not my big blocks
Cam specs: 264/264/.528/.528/108/104
Head flow what I remember. @ 28 Inches .300 201
.500. 250s

I will try and find the dyno sheet.

So lets get back to my 1979 long bed C-10 Big 10 truck, is there anyone on this forum that believes this truck weighs 3600 pounds with a person in it? By the way my 327 ran 12.0s in this same truck. Keep in mind this was not tested on my dyno, but independently tested on another shops dyno.

you will be in the low 11s if you can get it to hook up...if you get a really good hook maybe see a high 10. I had a 420hp 327 in my vette that is 3700 lbs and spun 13 flat at 108 while spinning t hetires in the first 3 gears....you got11s easy

First you have to understand theres a lot of losses with a c-10 truck,:

1. Very heavy brakes
2. 2 piece drive shaft
3. Wind resistance
4. My big ten weighs 3970, its been on two different scales, it was well over 4000 pounds before I started.

The race directer was right about one thing, the truck did run 13s with the 3.08 rear gear in Colorados high altitude with the 327.

Sneak in a full picture of that C10.
I don’t think anyone will care.
I love those years of pickups.

maybe you can do it... been wrong before.
I would like to hear back from you after your first run.
My son wants one of those trucks..

I remember a 427 AC Cobra met up with me one day, I was with my 383, about the same power as you are stating... and all I could do is watch his tail light fade away in front of me...
saw him 30 minutes later at the car show we were going to, he told me he was around 500hp 427, and 2300 lbs! I was at the time 800 lbs heavier, about same power.... .......weight, I learned a lesson that day... about every 5 lbs equals 1 hp. = 160 more hp needed to keep up with him. good lesson I learned that day, long ago,,

seriously would love to see you pull a low 11. That would set back a lot of people including me.
