What do you mean by front, fuel pump to carburetor?
If so the three lines involved are in the link below.
One line goes from the pump to the fuel filter.
The second large line goes from the fuel filter to the carburetor.
The third thin line is the return line and runs from the fuel filter to the return line on the frame.

You should have an Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) for your year car, so you have the detailed drawings you need to work on your car. Also, the "S" shaped rubber hose on the fuel pump needs to be a MOLDED hose, rather than bent-around stock hose. Regular fuel hose will KINK with those short turns and shut off fuel flow. Buy the molded hose for this one....

its a fuel return line not vapor and is just a short piece of hose from the return line pipe to the line on the frame.
As mentioned above the line from the frame to the input of the pump is a premolded S shaped hose.
Are you using the correct gas filter that has pipe connections for in and out and has a second small out that the return line connects to with a very short piece of hose, GF432?

I have the correct fuel filter and the FUEL return line is good. I,ve found the molded S line. The catalog say its for 70 to 82. Can I assume that it will fit a 69 also?

The S shaped hose is for small block only.
69 big block does not use that, just a regular piece of hose.
