I had one on my 71 for aprox 30 years. only issue i ever had was the plastic piece that has the slots cut in it had one of the mounting ears where the rotor screw goes thru break off. i called the the factory and they sent me 2 replacements at n/c. outside of that one issue it worked flawlessly. only reason i stopped using it is about 5 years ago i switched to a MSD tach drive dist.
7 & 8 cylinders are cold, I have new cap, rotor, plugs and wires, I'm thinking it might be the ignition box.
The box can't cause this.....it either works or does not. The pickup for the box though can or the pickup trigger wheel and I suggest going there next. Looks like it is optical so look for any obstruction in the slots.
