Agreed! My C3 gets the looks from many people. My reasoning for flares was... my '77 ain't worth nothing anyhow, so mod the hell out of it.

Amazing how many ways fiberglass gets molded - a wide variety of looks. Mine are plug in panels at the factory seams... basically.
A great thread idea. But limited as there are not so many C3's with flares.

I had some in car videos of the front of the car sliding to the outsides of the turns When they burned up, I went back to 295 fronts that always worked so well.

Big front tires really work the power steering pump. I put a tranny cooler on the low pressure return side and my pumps last longer.
I am running a borgeson box with vansteele front suspension and ride tech rear t56 willwood big brake kit .

I don't have all the dyno numbers in front of me, but it's a Dart block with Dart 335 CNC heads.11.0 compression. Pump gas. I tested a hyd roller cam, a solid roller cam, a solid flat tappet cam, hyd roller with solid roller lifters, an oil swap and multiple intakes and carburetors. It's mildest version with an HP 1000 Holley, ported (and angle milled for hood clearance) Vic Jr intake made 770'ish HP. A super Victor intake and a Dominator carb pushed it over 800 HP with the hyd roller. The solid flat tappet made similar 770'ish HP with the Vic Jr and 1000 HP carb...but made 820 HP with the big intake and carb. The solid roller along with the Super Vic intake and Dominator made 850 HP.

The milder 770'ish version is in the car now.

Hyd roller first...then solid roller with same small carb/intake. Last video is in car with me driving. I dropped off the engine and a group of friends thrashed to get it installed and put the whole car back together. It had been in body shop getting initial work done and flares added. They installed the T56 trans, power R/P, hydroboost, a Mike Dyer 12 bolt IRS etc etc. The car had zero miles on it when it was loaded in the trailer to bring to Bowling Green for a Corvette Forum Cruise In event. Turned out they hadn't got around to opening the rear of the L88 hood and the carb was about a 1/4" from the hood. Definitely hurting airflow and the throttle linkage wouldn't hold in place so after one mash of the throttle it would only open 3/4 of the way. They had guessed at the alignment on the rear and you can see in the video it wanted to go left and I lifted for a second to get it straight. Wrong hyd throwout bearing and clutch would barely release also. Anyway...we made a few passes and it ran mid 10's with all those issues. It was sorted all out later and is killer ride today!

The flares were purchased from Chevrolet many years ago. Those are 335X35X17 inch tires in the rear.

None. Just breathers. It was torque plate honed and I spent a lot of time making sure things were correct.

My twin turbo 555" in my car is also tight with no leaks or blowby. Thought about adding a vacuum pump to it for some power maybe...but really no need at this point. It runs high 8's@162 in the 1/4 mile now......already a handful!! LOL
