Thats awesome. Great creativity. You do it all yourself? What engine do you have?

Did all the body work myself. Not the Paint. However, I am doing the Paint on the restoration I'm doing now. The Engine is an all-Aluminum 400 SBC with Banks Turbocharging.

Default Just wondering

I like the look, is there any down side thoughts to weigh for a flared wide tired car as a daily driver? Just considering before!

none. Maybe tires are expensive and won’t last as long as regular

If you have a built, flared, lowered C3 Corvette, chances are it is a high performance car (many fine examples here). You can drive a fiberglass car year round if you choose. You see the used up high mileage examples... Some have some pretty high mileage yet still in good condition (with more maintenance than the owner is willing to admit I'd guess).
Tires are a consumable, especially the 200 treadwear rated dot track tires. You do not want your 200 dot track tires to spend the winter in freezing temps - it supposed to change the characteristics of the rubber. My flared C3 biggest wear (so far) is rock chips. A clear bra in the various areas is very helpful for your bucks up paint.
My car is used only for special outings as I try to keep it immaculate, including underneath.
I would love to do the "Power Tour" type thing with my car, but I cringe at the potential maintenance it would need along the way.
I am happy with my car being a weekend warrior.
YMMV

I agree. Every year I look at the power tour or that new Summit AutoCross series and think man that would be cool, but then I think of the possibility of rain and say "I'm out" lol

Same here. For now, weekend special outings and just looking at it in the garage is enough for me.

I love flares on C3's, I really do.
But, I really don't want to change the body on my '73.
About the only changes I plan to make right now, is to install a tall L88 hood and maybe mold the lower valance into the rear tail section to clean up the gaps and lines between the two sections.
My rear suspension will be Van Steel coil overs with 2" offset trailing arms so it would be easy to do flares if I decide to.
I am fighting it but I love the look of flares.
This is the look I like for the rear tail section, but I would still have the cut outs for the '73 exhaust tips.
If I was to do flares, these would be the flares.

The '73 was the first year with the long hood which deleted the wiper door.

CIC Vettes are among the best, as are their flares. Talk to Josh, as he can sell you flares, or, modify flares to your desire and let you finish the rest if you prefer.
My flares are CIC modified, and my hood is a Sunoco drag hood modified to represent a more roadrace look.

No flash all business

I've been up there a few times and it always surprises me how much desert type waste land there is in eastern Washington and Oregon.

I drive mine a lot and it is not perfect anymore but I do have a lot of fun. I put clear bra on the part of the rear flares in front of the wheel and it helps a lot to prevent chips. We have done a legs of power tour in '14 and 17. We really enjoyed the caravan between venues but waiting to get into the next one really sucks. We waited in line for 3.5 hours to get into the Dells in 14, and an hour after we paid to park, they told us we had to leave. It is kind of too big for me anymore but I am glad we did it. I drive out to South Dakota once a year in the summer which is 500 miles each way. I usually enjoy the drive, but coming home last summer I got caught in a black out monsoon for about an hour. Blinding rain and crazy winds. I found out the windows don't seal up when it is raining sideways and was soaked. I did want to stop so I followed a semi and stayed in his footprints hoping not to hydroplane with 335 tires. That part was NOT fun but I made it. We do local shows most weekends in the summer and Good Guys in Des Moines. This year we were featured in the Ride Tech booth which was an honor for sure . Most of the miles I put on during the summer are from me getting home from work and gettin in the car and just taking a drive out on county roads. that is my favorite thing to do.
I wish I had a couple cars and could keep one perfect and drive the heck out of the other, but I don't have that option so I try and compromise. I don't race on the track and I have no desire to race anyone on the street, but I do enjoy driving more days than not during the summer. I have said that my car is not perfect but it is perfect for me. :-)

So I think this thread just cost me a ton of money, thanks a lot guys.
I love the flares you have on your C3 and have always thought of making my 73 into a road race replica with flares.
Now, after reading your post, it might have put me over the edge to go this route, add flares and maybe side exhaust.
More research and decisions.
If I do the road race replica, the finished product might make me more satisfied with the end product and I may keep it longer.
