The truck Q-Jet is fine......most trucks had 350's in them and you have a 350......the jetting may be a little off......but get the timing and curve right and drive it......find a correct unit later......
Whatever you do....DO NOT use an adapter to bolt a Square Bore carb like a Holley or Edelbrock to the Q-Jet manifold.....terrible idea. And you may know this already but never buy a commercial "re-man" Q-Jet from anybody......

Thank you.
I most definitely know my limitations. Carbs are something I don’t mess with. I don’t even know what most of those screws and ports are for, much less think I can make it better!

I recall when I got my 82 Crossfire. It looked very intimidating until Bucaneer helped me understand the various sensors and fuel delivery channels. I was able to rebuild the system a few times afterward.

No way I would monkey with a system unless I completely understand it.

In my day job, I rebuild diving regulators and other equipment. I know how things can get messed up when you don’t know how it works.

Lars sent me several docs to study. I will be working on getting the timing right.

Thank you for the help.

For info, you can buy good, used, unmolested, rebuildable "numbers matching" 1975 Vette Q-Jets for less than $150. You just have to look...
As Jebby stated, I think your car will run pretty nicely once you set up the timing correctly. If you want some tips on locating a correct carb, drop me an e-mail for some carb locating papers and suggestions.
