82 Engine Swap
YOUR 10MT clone starter and the Bosch 10MT clone example, are Both the old-fashioned, heavy Delco Remy 10MT direct drive design; both long-superseded by more modern PG260 aka PMGR i have suggested.
FWIW, the current PG260 design was originally a Remy design, as well.
I dunno WHO manufactures YOUR 10MT clone, I do KNOW WAI GLOBAL also manufactures 10MT clone replacements (perhaps yours, dunno).
It's my fair assessment that You CAN use YOUR 10MT starter with 350/357. I'm a firm proponent of modern PG260 aka PMGR design.
FWIW:
see the very large, countersunk, black-colored PHILLIPS head screw that fits THRU side of your gold- colored starter case ?
That's dead giveaway a starter has field coils (instead of permanent magnets). There are Four palm-sized, inter-connected field coils arrayed around inside of 10MT case. EACH has a ferrous pole shoe which is held tightly away from armature by those large Phillips. Some so-called mini starters also have field coils BUT their cases often have labels which mask the presence of Phillips/field coils.

OTOH, PG260 rarely ever need any shim. I've never needed any w/ PG260.
Have you settled on which (or whose) hill you're gonna die on ?
Old info that don't apply; but cause for reflection:
As the NAFTA was on life support, and the USMCA was the new standard, and Mexican L31 production had ceased, and production at Springfield wasn't yet capable --- Those brand new L31 were trading for as low as $1600 delivered (yes, they had different GM P/N then as well). Wish I'd bought a freight car of em. When the Mexican tank went dry, prices surged; SRC's L31 production came up to speed and GM pricing went thru the roof.
Here we are approaching $6K

smaller 153T flexplates-flywheels are paired with starters having Two bolts that are in-line AKA straight-across from one-another. The Two bolts re Unequal lengths
OTOH
larger 168T flexplates-flywheels are paired with starters having Two (equal-length) bolts that are staggered AKA offset from one-another.
I recommend modern, starter like what GM has employed to supersede the Old 10MT direct drive starters.
The modern starter designated PG260 aka PMGR because; it has Permanent Magnets (in lieu of heavy, amp-hogging field coils & pole shoes) And have an internal planetary Gear Reduction. New PMGR starters Require New Specific Bolts, weigh less than Ten pounds and have an excellent service record; proven over past Thirty-plus years of OE.
Here's good choice from Rock Auto w/ life warranty REQUIRES NEW BOLTS, some guys have received them with this starter. Works with or without points ign and is configured to fit 168T flexplate. WAI GLOBAL P/N 3510NPG
