I made it. Bought the seat off of ebay then made the base to attach the seat to. Bought new bottom leather/foam and side bolsters from Al Knoch. All together I have about $500 into it. I use the chair everyday at work!
You have a great chair !!!!! I purchased by 50th from a company that only makes corvette chairs.
Maybe I can get a seat and adapt it to my current chair frame. I'll post a pick when I get back into my office on Friday. Nice chair, but I would rather have a 40th.

Thanks!! Not only is it comfortable, but I'm proud in the fact I made it.
I only need the side bolster mech. to make a second one. That and another frame to mount the seat to.
My wife convinced me we needed one ! The women are always right, eh???

Very nice Ruby and congrats on the purchase. And yes, the women are always right !!!! No matter what they say !!! My wife continues to let me own Corvettes, that makes her right every single time !!!!!!!
Some nice cars posted here so far. That Callaway car is the most awesome 40th that I have ever seen. Well, I don't have a ZR-1 or a Callaway but I do have a Ruby that only has around 5400 miles on her. I am only one month away from my one year anniversary of ownership of my 40th and I plan to keep her for a very long time.
I did manage to put about a thousand miles on her this past year ... perhaps next year I will double that amount.
