see thats why it doesnt make sense to me... if you stitch 40th on the seats why not the badge on the hood?
Yup doesn't make much sense to me either.
Oh I almost forgot because I got so busy trying to correct you on this whole Anny thing , Sweet wheels. I haven't seen that look before it's different The chrome sets off the emblems nicely. Are those Torque Thrust II wheels?

Thanks.... technically they are Torq Thrust M wheels.... however when I contacted TomzWheels they told me that the Torq Thrust IIs and the ones I have (M's) are the from the same mold. You can get the M's in wider sizes and also in chrome cheaper than the IIs....
Technically every '93 Vette is a 40th anniversray model and the Rubies just have the special appearance package to show it.
Eric ... I am willing to hear a valid argument on this point but just saying that all 1993 Corvettes are the Anniversary cars doesn't make it so. In fact, I haven't been able to find one single "official" document that supports your claim. If you look at the official GM brochure for 1993, it clearly states that only the "Ruby" cars are the Anniversary models and it refers to all other colors for 1993 as the standard base models. Of course this is also covered in the video that comes with our cars and it's also listed in countless other places. For me anyway, it's very simple ... to own an Anniversary car was an option in 1993 and it is clearly identified with an RPO code. You can stick a ZR-1 badge on your car but it doesn't make it a "real" ZR-1 and it's no different in the case with our cars.
So it would appear to me that because GM decided to stitch the headrests of all 1993 models to commemorate the year, that the entire (at least most of) Corvette community took it upon themselves to adopt all 1993 cars as Anniversary cars. If that is indeed the case, I guess that ignorance is bliss!

Using this logic all LT-4's are Grand Sports, it says so on the Throttle Body Cover.
Cool..... I was thinking about that look (ruby with black rims) and wondering if i would like it.... thanks for sharing the pic of your car.... I think I am a chrome guy.....

Black is not for everyone. But if you want to look like everyone, chrome is the way to go.

perhaps..... though in my neck of the woods there aren't very many Ruby's and for now I seem to be the only one around with my setup... so its all good....

Yeah I don't know why they put that plate on the non GS LT4's either they should have just left it blank on the regular Vettes.
I love the LT4's but if they wanted the GS to be even more significant they should have reserved the LT4's for that model only. But I don't think they could justify building such a limited number of LT4's.
Can you give us a low shot from the rear of the car ? I am thinking of doing the same thing with tires and wheels and would like to see what they look like in terms of stance from the rear.
Thanks,
MRHTRD
here are a few from the rear... sorry it took me longer than I promised....
fsr404, is your car lowered at all? The stance looks better than mine. I am considering lowering mine, but I'm not sure I want to tackle the front for half an inch difference.
Thanks very much for the pics. The tire and wheel package gives you a fairly wide stance in the rear and that's what I'm looking for.

yeah it looks wicked from the rear.... most people seem to notice that almost immediately.... I like the fact that the rear wheels have a deeper lip which aids the visual perception...
Oh .... and I don't want to hear the weak argument that because GM put stitching on the headrests of all 1993 models to commemorate the 40th year and that somehow makes all 1993 models 40th Anniversary Editions. Anyway, I know this isn't a popular discussion but as a 40th owner, it frustrates me that other owners don't wear that fact proudly and defend it but rather seem to run and hide behind the term "Ruby" instead.
My rant I guess...
...what about the ones with cloth seats, they do not have the stitching at all
Nope... It's just a car. A cool car, but just a car. it already has over 80k miles on it, and has been in an accident with questionable repainting. And I love it like that. I can just drive it and not be **** about it.
I may be changing jobs soon, and then it'll be a DD. 500 miles a WEEK!
Kinda scared about it, but this car is my good friend. I will be making plenty of money to fix whatever needs attention if I get the job. Plus, it will be much cooler than buying some little import flitbox to commute in.
I will also have access to a shop and a bunch of guys that will be working on Indy cars if I get the job, so maybe they can help me out with some cool stuff. Dunno...
Not going into details at the moment. Don't want to get ahead of myself.... I'm pretty excited though. Prayers and positive thoughts are welcome!

I know what you mean... mine is a daily driver, and I have over 213k miles on it at the moment.... I enjoy it and that's all that really matters.... I will probably do an engine swap next year sometime to bump up the hp, and some other minor cosmetics, but I plan on having this one indefinitely....
