The problem is to some extent everyone wants to PERSONALIZE their car.
So that's the dilema.
The trick is only do things that can be easily put back to stock!!!
E.G. Put those custom wheels on your car but DON'T sell the originals it might make the difference between an easy high$$$$ sale and a blow out 6 mos later for way fewer $$$$.
Just one guys opinion.

true... though I have no plans to ever sell it... in my opinion I have passed the point of no return value-wise, with over 214k miles on the clock, I have no illusions that my car is a high dollar car.... with that in mind, there are some serious upgrades I have planned over the next 3 yrs....
Your approach makes perfect sense.I bought my car for fun and investment and for me a lot of the fun is keeping it low mile and close to perfect (original) for as long as possible. Each to his own that's what makes the car hobby fun!!!!!
Thanks very much. I'm now looking for more under the hood projects...... and the mods just keep on coming.

Buy some Brasso yah Brasso in the little tin can, or Mothers white cream in the little bucket, take a rough nap face cloth and grind away on all those aluminum air fittings and pipes inc. your air tank.
They come up just like chrome after you buff them off.
Let me know what you think
If anyone is interested in a 18K mile Ruby ZR1, I'll be putting mine for sale this spring. I'll be wanting $40k firm. It's a well documented totally stock NCRS worthy car.

Brasso..... I've never heard of it. Where can I get it ???
Hopefully they make the stuff stateside, it should be in household cleaning supplies (grocery store)it's use is for polishing brass like SILVO for polishing silver. GOOD LUCK!!!!
P.S. I've been using it for 30 years for fine polishing on painted items as well.
I don't want to start a pizzing contest here but since this is a "Ruby" thread, I have a question for all other Ruby owners. Why is it that on this forum and others, everyone seems to feel like they need to categorize our cars as "Rubies" rather than just calling them the 40th Anniversary cars? Yes, they are Ruby in color and only the 40th Anniversary cars were our color combination.
I got into a dead end argument awhile back on this forum with some other '93 owners that want to stick our emblems on their cars and to call all 1993 model year cars "40th Anniversary" cars and it just isn't so. Every single piece of documentation from GM supports this fact including our RPO codes, our window stickers, the official GM 1993 brochure, every ad created by GM for the 1993 Anniversary models, every book written about the lineage of the Corvette line, every official GM piece ever written about the Anniversary package and even the Corvette Museum itself. With that being said, for some reason 40th Anniversary owners feel the need to call their cars Rubies instead (which they are).... but again, they are only Rubies because they are true 40th Anniversary editions.
Oh .... and I don't want to hear the weak argument that because GM put stitching on the headrests of all 1993 models to commemorate the 40th year and that somehow makes all 1993 models 40th Anniversary Editions. Anyway, I know this isn't a popular discussion but as a 40th owner, it frustrates me that other owners don't wear that fact proudly and defend it but rather seem to run and hide behind the term "Ruby" instead.
My rant I guess...
Sorry not to steal thread just thought i should say.
My 93 is a annv. because it was made in 93 which is the 40th annv. for corvettes, yours however is a special edition annv. car that is how i see it and GM! Not being a jerk but that is how i feel i bought a 93 to have a piece of Corvette history.

Try Metpol or Mothers and Mequiars makes this cotton wading in a tin can as well. All auto parts stores should carry it in the wax and polish section. The stuff is amazing just make sure you wear latex gloves or you will have black fingers. If you can't find it let me know and I will check it out for the area you live in.
Good Luck,
Mark
