Guys with x pipes and/or custom muff elims:
How much did it cost to get the x and/or elims welded in?

Melrose header extensions X pipe cats and pipes to drop the exhaust at the rear was 750$ + 100 for muff. emils + 100 to have the muff elims welded in...

exhaust is something many people want to personalize and it is one of the best performance boosters, for a lot of cars, and the manufacturers take advantage of this fact.

Some call it the free market, I call it taking advantage. But those are our choices unfortunately.

And yes, they are ALL expensive. But generally worth it in the long run because an exhaust will last a very long time.

I have. Although, I replaced only the mufflers, for I already had true duals with the stock mufflers.

Good:
-looks (depends on the viewer's taste)
-sound (not louder/quieter, just a little different)
-no drone (no drone with stock mufflers either)

Bad:
-loss of power & torque See this post

Both are quiet with partial throttle, no drone at all, but the sound is different. I would say that the LT-1 mufflers have a bit more raw growl, while on the other hand, the L98 mufflers have a bit more crisp, metallic and higher note 'when stepping on it'.

Sound clips (everything else is the same except mufflers):

L98 mufflers: http://kuvaton.com/finnshark/video-m...laputkilla.wmv

LT-1 mufflers: http://penthouse.homelinux.net/fs10/...mentimilla.wmv

True duals, Hedman long tube headers, no cats.

I have heard they lose torque and I have also heard that is an old wives tale.

But dyno's don't lie!

i like the sound of the LT on your car personally over the L98. But I listened to them on my laptop. I am going to lsiten again with speakers.

Thanks for sharing.
