Default Vandals

Well guys my C4 was vandalized on sunday. Insurance adjuster came today but wouldnt divulge details on what its going to cost to fix her.

due to glare theres some of the scratch's that dont how up in the photos. "PUTO" was scratchd into the hood and into the targa. Lines down both driver and passenger along with at rear hatch by gas filler.

anyone have any ideas as to cost?

I absolutely hate these mindless vandals; God help us both if ever I caught one!

Not sure of the cost to repair the scratches. If I caught them, the cost to whoever did this would be their *****.

If somebody has a nice car someone always has to screw with it. I'm sure if somebody did this to their car they would not be too happy. I have a new 40 cal. handgun I'd like to try out if you find out who did this.

not really in the same boat as you as far as repainting a vette, but I had my DD messed with the other day.

(long story)

I got the big mac craving and went out to mcd's at around 4am and while driving there, something bounced off my hood. I didn't know if it was a bird or squirrel or what, just that it was loud. I drove down the 150ft or so to the stoplight and looked in my rear view mirror to see if there was anything in the road. What I saw was someone walk out to pick up whatever they had thrown. Instead of going to mcd's, I took a right and went around the block. Halfway on that trip I stopped under a streetlight and saw that there were 6-7, inch long gouges in the paint on my hood. So I came around to the area, creeping slowly as if I was staging a drive by, and did not see anyone. So I took the right turn again and looked behind all of the stores that were lining the road and what I saw some some kid/guy in a hoodie booking it. So I spent the next 20 minutes crusing up and down the streets of the neighborhood he went running to to see if anyone was outside. Never did catch the mindless b@srd.

I feel your pain, I had my 96 coupe for a only a week when I purchased it in July and someone keyed the passengers side from rear wheel to the front bumper and then gouged hood with a long deep scrape. The bill came to $2500.

It's a shame you don't know who it is. I know places around here where bodies will never be found. Hopefully the insurance folks will be good to you. I got my Vette painted at Tony Lewis body shop on McCombs in NE El Paso and they did a good job.

Again, sorry to hear it. Hopefully these nutless wonders will cross the wrong guy some day. While El Paso has very little violent crime for a city this size, there is a lot of property crime. Maybe the next guy's car they decide to vandalize will catch them and take it upon himself to beat them unconscious and dump them in the desert.

PS...which side of town are you in?

Wow, that is awful. I think that is why my dad tells me not to drive my Corvette to school because someone will key it. I do think that people need to stop being jealous of us Vette owners just because they do not have one. If they worked hard and saved their money, instead of keying cars, they could have a nice Corvette.
