Sorry to hear about your misfortune shbbykins. Unfortunately theres no cure for human stupidity. I wish you the best. Ive had great dealings w AutoBody Experience across Cielo Vista Mall. The owner is Jay, a corvette enthusiast w lots of years/exp in all-generation corvettes. Let me know if I can be of assistance. Would be happy to accompany you for a quote. Best of luck.

Andy

Default Thanks for....

......the Rosetta Stone moment guys! You would think that being from the NYC/Metro area I would have known what that word was?

I have never seen it spelled out. Hearing it in 'conversation' and those guys talk so fast that it sounded like "punto" to my untrained ears. I guess the two yrs of high school Spanish is really useless. I guess I should really invest in one of those Rosetta Stone courses?:o

My best wishes for a favorable resolution to this stinking mess!

What disturbs me more is that it happened on base. Doesn't say much for the integrity of some of those serving in our ranks. Hope eveything gets worked out with the insurance.

I think if they find these people(not likely because it doesnt look like they are searching very hard) you will find them to be either huge "greenies" pissed that you are driving a "gas guzzler", or some lowlife degenerate that is living on our tax money and is jealous that the Government hasnt provided them with a Corvette yet.

That sucks

Judging by the number of marks it looks like a few kids did this not just one. Keep and eye out for a gaggle of teenage trouble makers roaming the area. Kids love to return to inspect their "handy work". Get 1 or 2 of their home addresses and give them to the police/MPs and have them squeeze'em....the little creeps will fold like a lawn chair.

I live on a nice street. There is a church directly across from my house and surrounded by older friendly good hearted neighbors who would give you the shirt off there back.

My house has been the favorite spot for vandals for 5years now. The following has happened on my property in the past 5 years:

Corvette windshield smashed in, FUC* you spray painted on our truck, Explorer was keyed twice, Honda was keyed once, Someone took a truck 4X4 and did doughnuts in our yard, people ride by and yell out obscene swear words and crude comments, chrismas snowman was stolen, my sisters wheelchair was stolen off our front porch.

Our church is only two years old and it has been vandalized. It's very sad. The neighborhood is clean, good neighbors, and we live in a clean well kept house. If it was the ghetto, I would believe it more but damn, it's getting crazy out there!!!

Please, if you catch who did it, PRESS CHARGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT!!!

Not that it isn't vandalism, but are there any critters around? Skunks, racoons, etc can do this sort of thing - top and sides - just as easily as dimwited vandals, and they only roam around at night. Hate to see you get it back and have it happen again.

There are a lot of critters.....but I doubt one of them would have the presence of mind to spell out "puto" on the hood and top.

Shbby....I've heard good things about Auto Body Experience too like Andy suggested. I've never used them, but they have a good reputation. There are good reputable shops in El Paso...most of them have been around for decades....and then there is an abundance of fly by night shops too. Use the good ones, pay a little more, and all will be well.

TomTom....glad you enjoyed the R.S. session At work, we've all known each other for over a decade and commonly refer to each other as Puto, Cabron, Joto, Payaso, Culero, and any one of a number of other Spanish superlative terms of endearment.

Only the lowest form of sh** on earth would violate a place of worship. I sincerely hope they catch whoever did this and lock them away for a spell and make them pay for the damage. Of course, maybe the man upstairs will take care of the problem.

Default A**holes!

Man, I'd pay $1,000 just to see who did that. I had a brand new car right off the lot keyed from headlight to taillight one week after I purchased her.

You'll never catch'em. As hard as it sounds, just let it go and get her repainted from the check your insurance co is going to write.

I can not tell how I would react to that. Even if it would be on my 160,000 daily driver. I'd be so mad that I would fix the car and stand guard awaiting for the motherfXXers that would have done it.

I hope your insurance takes care of you, I'm mad by looking at your pictures

Did you show the judging sheets from the shows to the adjuster? That would be independent proof on how nice the vette was. It might give you some bargaining room.

This has also made me think about some of those insurance companies, like Grundy’s, etc, that will insure your vette to an agreed value as opposed to Kelly or in house values. Does anyone have any experience with one of them? Is it a good alternative?

My 84 is insured through Hagerty for an agreed value of $8000. Granted it's a nice car, but I wouldn't be terribly traumatized if it were stolen. Of course since I garage it 99.9% of the time, the thief would have to break into the garage. The firefight will be deafening, and I doubt Hagerty will ever get involved.

Shbby, if you do ever find out for sure who did it, I'm up for a little mischief.

Hey, Frizlefrak, you live in a Republic! You can have a suppressor. It is more fun and does not wake up the neighbors. Plus, it gives you a better chance to transport the NHI’s to a place of eternal rest without official help.
