i dont think the price will go up too much as they arnt putting serials and he cartridges or watever. prolly a 10-15% hike if it goes into affect. for home loaders it wouldnt matter lol
Hey shbbykins, i take it your active duty? Rumor is if you have USAA you can get "free" paint job due to all the sandstorms down here. That's of course when you PCS out of this ****hole. I hate this place and am counting down the days!

You a Active guy down here man? USAA is sketchy on that free paint job. Ive seen guys do it but i u flt out ask them they will deny it. You get 1 free one while here and another when you leave. I think your responsible for the deductible tho.
USAA still hasnt paid me my money to get her fixed. Car is scheduled to go in friday for repair.
My wife's sons reload,so I get my range rounds from them. I picked up some factroy rounds to play with and the HP for defense. I fired a few through the gun and it wasn't bad. When I have the short clip in I do have to watch out for the slide coming back and getting me if my right hand is too high.
Wow....I saw those pics and literally got a queasy feeling. I dont know shbbykins and that wasnt my car but I still felt bad as I'm sure many of us at CF did. Just goes to show the comraderie that vette owners have for our cars and the like-minded people that have them. And BTW guys...on this CF manhunt...why use a 40 when a 45 ACP is so much more fun? Better yet...I'm sure I cant be the only AR-15 aficianado on the bunch
Yup I'm active duty down here at Bliss. That sucks about USAA. I have 2 buddies who are both active duty who know there way around a paint and body shop. They've both done several award winning paintjobs. They're talking about shooting me and another buddies cars. It's up to me and another friend to get everything together. And as of Tuesday we finally found a place to spray down here. Who knows. If your car isn't finished by the time they setup they might be able to hook you up. Our goal right now is to cover the cost of the booth and materials. After we do that it will on. And my vette is unmistakable in El Paso and on Bliss. Custom body, 3 colors and primer ugly as sin. One of the guys getting the painting together is helping me in what little free time we get. Good luck and if your car looked as ugly as mine you'd realize people will leave it alone, even in El Paso.

Reason: redundancy
Oh. And as far as the vandalism goes, I hope they get shot next time. My wifes car has been vandalized down here too. Someone stole her taillight! And she was 8 months pregnant! People constantly talk sh*t about us in spanish when we go out and for the most part she understands it. Gotta love this hellhole.
I have to talk to my buddy that found the shop. It's basically an empty area to go work as far as we know so far. Still figuring out if we have to buy our own tools or rent or what. Sorry have not progressed much on it this past few days. Wife just had a baby today and I've been with her in the hospital for over 30 hours straight. When I get back to work I will let you know what's up. Hopefully we will have it figured out by this weekend. I will show the design to my buddy and see what he says.
Been here 20 years now. Believe it or not, I've lived in worse places (Roswell NM cough cough). We'll all swap some stories when we get together for our first Vette cruise. I've made a lot of good friends here....there are a lot of good folks in El Paso. And the Mexican food here....damn, it's just the best on the planet. Plus we can screw with the guys up north who are putting their Vettes away for the winter right now and remind them we cruise year 'round.
The Spanish thing...well, you become accustomed to it. Half of my employees don't speak any English, and while I'm not completely fluent, I can carry on a decent conversation in Spanish now. 20 years of immersion will do that.
It really isn't a bad place to live, but the areas around the base are a bit rough. I live out in far Northeast (Apollo Heights) and have never had any kind of problem. Then again, the cars are garaged, and if the bad guys manage to get in there, they won't be leaving in the conventional sense, if you get my drift. A Springfield 1911A makes a large hole in things.
I'm out of town next week, but let's start planning a get together.
Nah....It ain't mine, I'm still on the corporate treadmill. I just go around acting like it's mine
I'd love to go shooting, but the wife and I are going to Arizona for a week. We can definitely put that on the list soon. You go to Ft. Bliss Rod and Gun Club out on Railroad? 5 minutes from my house. I did manage to grab 400 rounds of Winchester 230 gr ball ammo at Wally World a couple of months ago...man .45 ammo is getting hard to come by. I need some practice....it's been a while, probably can't hit the broad side of a barn anymore.

Frizlefrak, If you are going anywhere near Chino Valley, Az, go see Hans Vang at Vang Comp Systems. He is over by Gunsite. He is a Vette guy, a Master Gunsmith, and an all around good guy.

Will be in Pinetop for the week. Believe it or not, my older brother was the gunsmith at Gunsite Ranch from around 1986-1991 or so when Jeff Cooper was alive and running it. Thanks for the tip though....I will pass it on to my older bro....he still lives in the area (Paulden) and might like to meet him.

Hans has his golden chicken, so they probably know of each other. He is having a huge sale if anyone is interested in Remington 870 Vang Comped Shotguns.
